If I was drunk at a casino and started gambling, is the casino legally obligated to not take advantage of me?

I’m not talking about being unconscious. I’m talking about drunk but sober enough to make a decision (whether or not to gamble my money away). If I lost all my money gambling, and the next day complained to the management that they took advantage of me, would I have recourse? Should I be able to press charges against them? Or would they consider my claim ridiculous?

I ask because feminists like to claim that people (i.e. women) who are drunk and agree to sex are still raped. (what I like to refer to as “buyer’s remorse” sex)

While I don’t agree in taking advantage of a drunk girl, neither do I consider it a crime if she agreed to it. (I’m not talking about someone passed out – I’m talking about a drunk person who is sober enough to consent).

So would feminists try to use this same argument in Vegas if they lost their money, or do they only use this excuse with men?

Update:

@W: Not really. I'm arguing the principle, not the specifics. Your knee jerk (and I might add, retarded) reaction to my question betrays your lack of critical thinking and unwillingness to confront the issue.

Update 2:

@ Ya Coffee:

1.Sorry, but feminists use this argument all the time (not just on Y!A, but on discussion boards as well). Your denial does not change the fact.

2. Nobody said anything about downplaying rape, victim blaming or shaming (not sure where in my question you got that – are you on crack?). Your irrational and hysterical tirade that my question somehow promotes rape not only ruins your credibility, but just confirms what other people here already know (that feminists make up lies and try to put words into people’s mouths that aren’t there).

And what about feminists Up-playing rape? (creating overblown rape statistics in order to create a climate of fear amongst women and against men)? I don’t hear you complaining about that.

3. Legitimate rapes are abhorrent to me. I have always made that very clear in my personal life as well as on the internet. I have also made it clear that I am not anti-female (that is simply another shaming tactic people like you use.) Women who tell b

Update 3:

@ Sapient: Yes i do realize casinos don't want players go get too drunk (but that's not for the benefit of the player: that is for the benefit of the casino: Casinos not only want to make sure players don't cause trouble, they also want to make sure players aren't making bets they can't back up while they are drunk). However, my question remains legitimate.

Update 4:

@ YaCoffee: (my answer got cut off): Women who tell blatant lies (such as yourself) are part of the problem; by getting defensive and failing to address the real issue, you make it easier for REAL cases of rape to not be taken seriously. You are not pro-female, you are pro-feminist (BIG DIFFERENCE)

No one would care and that's why these "rape" laws are a big contradiction. We need to release guys who have been incarcerated because of these ridiculous, asinine laws.

I don't understand, was she playing the slot machine or did the slot machine hold her down and take the money from her purse? If its the prior then no, its not like being raped. "Taking advantage" of someone who is drunk would be like the casino taking money from her, against her will. Or while she is passed out. The problem is, if a man HOLDS DOWN and FORCES himself on a woman, even if she's had one beer, it causes people to question whether or not it was consensual. Your example holds no light against this and is a reflection of how ignorant people are when it comes to the actual rape laws of our country.

Relax boys, there is no conspiracy to lock you all up with false rape accusations.

The cops are much smarter than that, rape is always a highly investigated and scrutinized claim to make. The problem is, many times people focus on the one or two examples where a woman made a false claim (and was caught quickly!) and don't remember all the other countless ones which turned out to be true.

Speaking as someone who lived in Las Vegas for a number of years...

Casinos can and will prevent people who are drunk from playing. It's a fine line, because casinos also provide free booze to gamblers, or at least they did when I was there. I'm not kidding, you sit down at a slot or a table, and pretty soon a waitress (never a waiter) in a VERY scant costume would come up to you and ask what you'd like to drink. Now, the drinkers were expected to tip the waitresses, but it wasn't required. But the waitresses would keep bringing you drinks as long as you were gambling. Of course Security was also watching the gambling drinkers to make sure that they weren't getting too drunk, and also to make sure that they weren't causing trouble.

Sting - Shape Of My Heart BQ: never gambled really. I play the lottery, so I've probably eaten dinner while watching the lottery. So cool. BQ2: ummm, didn't indians live in the desert before americans took their land, now the only way they can get back at the americans is to con them out of their money? BQ3: very well thank-you

First this is NOT an argument feminists use. This is just one of the many excuses MEN who want to down play the amount of rape that actually goes on use to undermine true victims of rape by painting them as liars and shame them and blame them - and pushing them to hide and not come forward with legitimate charges of rape when it does happen.

Women who cry rape in this situation are not helping women and femists would not support them and men like you who think this is the case are actually promoting really ugly rape by attacking women victims - pretending that they are not legitimate - like you pretend here so they will hide and more rapists will get away with it. Shame on you - your lies about feminism and your anti-female attitude is actually promoting rape. You are part of the problem.

Yes if your female as you are deemed not capable of consenting to your financial responsibility whilst intoxicated.

No if your male. You are always responsible.
