Need help fixing my desktop speakers....?
My son downloaded a new game this week...not sure what it was right now but since then I cannot use my computer speakers. I can use a headset, the speaker icon has a red x and everything I have done does not work. I went to device manager and it says i need a passkey provided by my support professional. Well I don't have one....any suggestions?? I have gone on line and found many ways to fix this but nothing works.

Not sure if this will work? But you can try it, it you want.
I have had this to work on a lot of computers.
Click Start
In the start menu box type in audio
From the list select find and fix audio play back
problems
This works with windows 7, and I think also with
windows Vista.

hi donna u, if you do not have surround sound than I recommend that you take your computer to a computer to a computer repairman and tell him that you want him to upgrade your computer to a surround sound and ask him to change your sound card from soundblaster xfi extreme sound. but if you like more tint to your sound than I suggest a soundblaster titanium now why did I suggest this? because first a passkey would have to be installed when your computer was build and it is not called for and second it will increase your sound so much you will love it. all of my friends comes to my house to listen to music because my sound sounds like the musician is in the same room with us. but the only bad part is you will hear so many new sounds that you will swear you hear a car door or a noise outside and you look outside. lol it's a hoot. good luck I hope I was helpful to you
Source(s): i'm not kidding it is the best sound that you have ever heard. but if you want to just get your replacement then just order stereo two speakers so your choice but trust me about how great the sound is. take care :)
