***Christians, please help! What does God want from me?***?

So in my devotions last night I was reading in Daniel chapter 8 & 9. It was about Daniel dreams of a Ram and a Goat.

I didn't know what to right down in my devotions because I wasn't sure what to think of what I had read. I specifically said "God what are you trying to say to me with these verses?"

I ended up writing about something else, and went to bed.

I woke up with a dream burned in my memory. The group Hillsong had come to my church and I felt lead to go with them and be a part of their worship team in Redding, NC.

The dream was vibrant as ever, and I'm not sure what God is trying to say to me. I'm confused because,

- Hillsongs headquarters aren't in Redding, NC

- Redding isn't even a city in NC, it's a city in California where Jesus Culture started their band.

- I have a good friend who lives in NC that I've been praying God will allow me to minister to

- I really want to move to Florida or California

I know God has called me into the ministry to be a worship leader. I am one of the worship leaders at my church right now, but I so strongly disagree with so much that is going on in this Church and I've been crying out to God to help me.

I'm currently in my third year at a University getting my degree in criminal justice, but I feel God telling me to do something else. I don't know if I should finish college and then follow God, or what I should do.

Obviously I'm going to be in serious prayer, but do you guys have any opinions on anything else I should do, or anything I should pray about?

Update:

*Daniels *write

sorry for my spelling mistakes! I just woke up and am in a bit of shock.

As for the lord to give you a plain path to walk on. God does guide us we just need to be sensitive to his direction. Go to Him in pray and tell him how you feel HE WILL DIRECT YOUR PATHS!

Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

Charlotte NC, where Sid Roth is based, is very close to Fort Mill SC, where Morningstar is based. Obviously Redding CA is where Bethel is. But you don't have to be a part of a big church to have a big spiritual impact...

Take Moravian Falls NC, for example. They had a 100 year prayer movement there.. people are impressed that IHOP Kansas City has gone non-stop for 15 years, and indeed it is impressive, but how many people take up the mantle of the calling on that little town Moravian Falls? I will give u the name of one person who does, Anna Rountree.

I would rather lead worship in Anna Rountrees church than I would at IHOP because the angelic presence may actually be stronger with her! It sounds silly, but look in to it.

For my 2 cents, I don't think God was telling you anything specific, outside of joining a fairly unknown but very powerful Pentecostal-Charismatic church, and probably one that has a heart for Israel. This isn't a thus says the Lord comment, but rather just a loaded locational answer for a dream loaded with locations.

Maybe you are being warned about the music played in many churches today. There is a new form that modernism and apostasy has taken to creep surreptitiously into our churches and destroy their Scriptural testimony. THIS TIME IT DOES NOT COME IN THE FORM OF PREACHING OR TEACHING, BUT RATHER IN THE CARNAL PRODUCTION OF THE MUSICAL PROGRAM FROM MANY CHURCH PLATFORMS. Much of the singing heard today by choirs and specials on the average church platform is what is known as contemporary or as soft rock and is often backed with the sound of canned music that could be produced by the average dance or disco band at the corner honky-tonk.

In my personal estimation, much noise or racket (certainly not music) is a polluting stench in the nostrils of a holy God. With its sensual tones, jungle beat, and night club presentation, it appeals to the flesh rather than to the spirit. It motivates the carnal interest instead of the new nature. The sad truth is that most of this new contemporary, soft rock, offbeat style of music was conceived in hell, hatched among the charismatic crowd, and printed in their publishing houses.

Fundamental Churches and others that refuse the teachings of the charismatic crowd concerning tongues, signs, miracles, and so forth are now singing their music in our churches and preparing our people for the world, the flesh and the devil. It is the new Trojan Horse move of modernism to deaden our churches to spiritual truth. Icabod can be written over most of its lyrics and notes. The sad part of this is that many of our pastors are not aware of what is taking place. A lot of these musical arrangements come in the form of "canned music" with the sound of drums, amplified guitars, plus other instruments with the offbeat of the jungle just like you would expect to hear in the honky-tonk saloon.

I have heard several people say that it carries the same beat and swing that they used to dance with before they were saved. There is a sort of hippy-oriented "pop" flavor that is disgusting to any consecrated Christian and must be repulsive to Almighty God.

I think you may be reading more into it than it is.

What God wants, Jesus wants, is a relationship with you. As a friend, brother, God, etc all that.

That passage you read in Daniel actually refers to the He-Goat is Greece lead by Alexandar the Great, and the Ram is Persia which he conquered. The little horn is Alexandar himself. These are symbolic things that you can learn about as you study the Bible as to what they mean. This was a prophectic text written 100 of years before Alexandar the Great even was born yet.

He has made clear to you, O man, what is good; and what is desired from you by the Lord; only doing what is right, and loving mercy, and walking without pride before your God. - Micah 6:8

I find it hard to believe someone who believes god speaks to them in dreams got into a university. Did you have some take the SATs for you? or did you just "lie" on all the science questions that violated your beliefs?
