Membranes in 11th dimension and higher dimensional creatures?
i watched this video called " Imagining the tenth dimension" on Youtube. Following that, i also saw some videos in which Dr. Michio Kaku had talked about living in the eleventh dimension. He said there would be different kinds of membranes.
Were the membranes he was talking about physical things or just an anomaly to represent a complex mathematical concept?
also, in the "Imagining the tenth dimension" video, there were examples of 2-dimensional flat landers and 3- dimensional creatures (us)... is there a possibility that there are aliens which might be living in higher dimensions? if there are such aliens, is there a possibility that we can interact with them? or, will we appear to them as things that are ' not lively' [i.e, the way we view photographs/videos]
ok this may be confusing and a difficult to understand for some.. but this is the best way i can ask this... its quite hard to find the exact words !!

Be critical of anything Kaku says. He also believes in time travel into the past when most of his peers, like Hawking and Greene, do not.
Anyway, no, membrane is not skin membrane. It's a math term for what amounts to area defined by the dimensions. As an image, think of a soap film within a square hoop of wire. The hoop is the two dimensions (each of two sides) and the film is the membrane. This is an incomplete model as membranes can be higher dimensional than the film which is only 2D.
As to living things in the so-called higher dimensions; not likely. In fact there is no reason to believe they even exist except as corrections to equations that gave wrong and silly answers without them. Without the higher dimensions in string theory, for example, they were getting answers like probabilities greater than 1.0000. So they just kept adding dimensions until such silly answers went away. Those higher dimensions are a math artifact, not physics. [See source.]
