Perhaps you could take up some voluntary work to begin with one or two days a week to start with and see how you get on. It you find it interesting enough then maybe a job may come out of it part-time. You could also join a men's group in your local area, take up a hobby eg- a musical instrument, art, bowling, tennis etc Since you like reading could you help a group of foreigners learn english or even read to little children at the local library. You might even consider getting a pet like a dog which will mean getting out each day for a walk. Start with small steps and when your comfortable do more. Perhaps you could also spend your time getting to know God. Attend your local Church. In your own time and when your ready. Take it day by day. Maybe you could keep a diary or make a list of things you would like to try and stick it up on your wall as an incentive.

If you find a job, then it can open doors to making friends

and new opportunities.

Sitting at home, feeling sorry for ourselves brings no reward.

Why not get out more and try to socialize with other people?
