Why would I give a damn about CO emissions, IF...
... retarded politicians and so many stupid idiots want mandatory registration (meaning of course paying big$$$$) for riding a gawddamn bicycle.
Honestly, Australia is turning into Nazi land.
If it comes to that, I'll simply ride 'illegally' and if the bullies in blue (law) are going to cause me trouble, then I simply won't give a rat's as$ about the environment anymore and simply do my bit polluting it with car exhaust fumes, instead of environmentally friendly alternatives such as riding a bike.
The ball is in the court of those greedy, money hungry, dictator politicians and the idiots that egg them on! Basic civil liberties is dead in Australia, and without it people get depressed.
Depression has become one of our biggest killers.
Corrupt thinking politicians only care about money and power that they use to cause pain and suffering.
@Will
What you're missing is that here in Australia bicyclists are regarded as 'unwanted pests' by a percentage of arrogant car drivers.
What percentage we don't know, but as usual, just a handful of big-mouthed people with crazy ideas stir up a hornet's nest and make it appear that they represent an entire nation!
So there's a bit of a 'mini-war' between car drivers and cyclists, apparently caused by a handful of car drivers doing stupid things, such as cutting off cyclists or driving way to close to them -- and also by a handful of cyclists doing stupid things, such as grabbing onto tie rails of trucks or the body of a car, while picking up speed at traffic lights.
Now politicians are debating about introducing registration for cycling, just because some idiots in our community suggest that. A popular cricketer named Shane Warn was one of them, when he was chucking a hissy fit because of an altercation with a cyclist.
How in hell registration is goin
How in hell registration is going to make things safer is beyond me, but as usual, the greedy Aussie govt ONLY cares about money, which they well and truly confirmed by giving themselves a disgustingly high pay rise -- stolen from tax payer's money!
They've got ZERO problem solving skill, but eagerly jump at any opportunity to exploit civilians whom they are SUPPOSED to REPRESENT -- NOT rob of their civil liberties and money!
Australia has turned into a living hell... BUREAUCRACY HELL!!!

Seriously, you lost me... I'd think the government would be happy that you were riding a bike if they're concerned about CO2 emissions. WHat am I missing?

If it's just a few dollars for registration expense, it isn't really awful. If it is more to suck in extra for building their empires, I agree with you.
Source(s): For decades I studied philosophies, cultures, and social institutions. I began that because of confusion resulting from my military experience under the shadow of neo-Marxist anti-military and anti-capitalism indoctrination in the universities. I continue a forty year quest wading through the huge pile of stinking crap a wide variety of bigots dumped on top of truth hiding it from nearly everyone's view. The pile was made by blaming people or practices they don't like while excusing people or practices they do like regardless of where the fault really lies.
