If you aren't a vegetarian, do you think it's hypocritical to say you like animals?
It just seems weird to me that people who have pet dogs, cats, etc. claim to be such "animal lovers" yet then you eat meat
~Not saying I don't do the same by the way, but

I eat Meat, I like animals, I have Pets
What I do not understand is
Why others would Presume that Meat Eaters are Hypocrites because of this?
I think that because the Living Creatures meat eaters partake of
make a louder noise when they are in pain than do the Living Plants
which Science has found do feel pain...eaten By Vegetarians...
is Why They make such a Big Deal About the Slaughter of Animals
for Food and not the Slaughter of Plants, The Plants can't scream
at a level a human can hear...
So, Is a Vegetarian a Hypocrite
if they have any type of Plants in their Home or Yard?

Not at all. Consuming other life forms is a part of life. I would have to be pretty damn hungry to eat a 'pet' type animal such as a dog, or any other larger critter that I had bonded with such as a goat or cow on a farm that I had raised myself. Animals offer a tidbit of the connection you can have with another person, which is why I think some people have a moral objection to eating animals, illogical as it may be.

Well, I used to be vegetarian, until I realized that the thought of eating a dead animal wasn't what was making me avoid meat. Why I was vegetarian was because I didn't like the thought of supporting companies that torture animals before killing them. So I eat meat and love animals at the same time, but I will not buy from companies that are inhumane.
So it's only hypocritical if you support companies that torture animals before killing them.

No. I like animals. I like plants too. I still eat them. Never said I didnt. If you cannot accept the biological need to consume life then I think the perspective becomes a bit delusional. Vegetarians would like you to believe that a respect for life is a part of the reason they are vegetarians, but they still murder plants to feed themselves. The fact that you cannot hear a plant scream or plead does not alleviate the moral fault.

In fairness, we don't generally eat the animals we keep as pets. I mean, technically, humans are animals as well, and yet we don't eat each other. And not everyone has a choice. Some people would love to be vegetarian, but can't, for health reasons. As sad as it is, zoophagy is simply natural.

In spite of being not a vegetarian, I love animals so much.
There's no direct correlation between eating meat and being animal lovers.

nope, some animals are for food, for produce, beauty of the wild, and for pets. you can like them all and be thankful for them without being hypocritical.
