JW's: Why do you believe the NWT is the correct "translation"?

Don't recommend a Bible study. I know how to study the Bible on my own; and if I did want someone else's input, it wouldn't be that of a JW.

Well, just how accurate a Bible do you want? How much lying are you willing to put up with? It sounds like a great deal, so far.

You do realize that you Bible has at least 7,000 cases of deliberate falsification in it? In the matter that God, in your Bible, says is the most important thing in the Bible?

"“Bring forth a people blind though eyes themselves exist, and the ones deaf though they have ears.9Let the nations all be collected together at one place, and let national groups be gathered together. Who is there among them that can tell this? Or can they cause us to hear even the first things? Let them furnish their witnesses, that they may be declared righteous, or let them hear and say, ‘It is the truth!’”

10“YOU are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “even my servant whom I have chosen, in order that YOU may know and have faith in me, and that YOU may understand that I am the same One. Before me there was no God formed, and after me there continued to be none.11I—I am Jehovah, and besides me there is no savior.” 12 “I myself have told forth and have saved and have caused [it] to be heard,+ when there was among YOU no strange [god].*+ So YOU are my witnesses,”+ is the utterance of Jehovah, “and I am God."

Did you see it? The point of their being His people in the first place was to bear witness to the true God, whose name was Yahweh in Hebrew, or Jehovah in English.

Go to the library, get an Exhaustive Concordance and look up "Jehovah", then look up "God" and "Lord" and note the dictionary numbers, and start counting, because your Bible deliberately lied and translated "Yahweh" as "the Lord" or "God" instead of "Jehovah" over 6,700 times where the real, original Bible had God's Name, not a title, which is what "Lord" and :"God" are.

There are other things, but first you need to see the importance of the most obvious thing. Do you respect the truth or not? Do you really want the truth? Your reaction to this most obvious point will tell.

    Warm regards,

    MichaelM

I wonder how closely you considered the words of your question.

    "correct translation"

When the NWT was translated there were not a lot of decent options in choosing Bibles that were not infiltrated with pagan ideas or words that were substituted to push certain man made, unscriptural doctrines. Therefore, when the NWT was translated the translators looked into the oldest manuscripts they could lay their hands on and carefully studied each word and translated the exact meaning as closely as possible.

Now days there are many translations out that we use. I like to use the New International translation as it is also easy to understand.

So when you say "correct translation" that would imply that we think no other translation is worth having because they aren't correct. However, your thinking is flawed as most JW's use many different translations, including the Watchtower and Awake! magazines.

Its hard to believe JWs really used a "secret committee " to translate their bible.

    But they did .

You see at places like Wikipedia you'll find who really translated it .

Guess what NONE of them were accredited bible scholars . I guess thats

why they officially hid who did it .

Here's a site with a exhaustive list of REAL bible scholars and what they said about

    the NWT .

    http://www.forananswer.org/Top_JW/Scholars%20and%2...

JWs have a list of supposed experts that sound like they support the NWT .

A little research shows that many were misquoted or taken out of context .

So then why ask this question? :-)

Same reason why most Catholics prefer to use the King James Version of the Bible - they believe it is the most accurate translation. For me it doesn't matter. A bible is a bible at the end of the day. However, my bible has sentimental value for me so I prefer to use it over all the others.
