    Great fotos with labels.

    This is an allergic reaction.

I'd guess it's from a bite, probably spyder! Spiders don't actually 'bite'. They mascerate. Even if not a poisonous type of spyder, their saliva can cause a reaction, and it spreads thru the tissue which becomes hard 'turgid' and often itchy. If it starts to ulcerate, that is bad and you need to go to a specialist, not just an ordinary MD. But overwise, hot and cold compresses, and don't scratch it. Think about insects you have seen recently. Could be some kind of insect I have never seen or heard of....I have seen a centipede bite in Hawaii, that looked like that.

Worry if you have difficulty breathing, and see if you can get some Fexofenadine 180mg. This is a 3 generation anti histamine. Might take it down a bit.

Source(s): I live in Australia, home to the best weather and the worse poisonous insects, snakes and fish. You know this stuff if you live here, but I study allergy anyway.
