What do I need to think about before I move out of my parents house?

I plan to go to college in Florida and currently live in Ohio. I want to be in Florida for a short time, two to five weeks, before school starts. I have an idea about what I will need to worry about: a place to stay, food, gas, work. Is there anything major I need to take into account? I'm also trying to find a job now to earn money to get myself where I need to be so any tips for finding a job would be helpful (not really interview tips or application tips, I just need searching tips)

Some colleges have housing that is cheap for college people to rent near the college. There are trailer parks with low rent because the owners get subsidized. My two kids (girl 24, boy 25) they are in Auburn area living in such a trailer park sharing rent and expenses. Now you need to find a room mate you mesh well with and share the cost of rent and utilities. Find a room mate by placing an ad at the school or if you know someone. Make sure it's a person like yourself who you can live with. Not an opposite personality. You need to find a job close by and most businesses will work with you on the schedule due to school. Use the phone book and write a list of perspective businesses you can go apply with. Many might be waitress work at restaurants. That's ok...just pick places that are not "college oriented" because those people have no money for tips. Pick a nice restaurant where families or business men go to. Money is best there.

Get your ducks in a row before you move so you won't be overwhelmed. Find a job online, check the classifieds re an apartment, and very important, find a place that's close to your job, when you find one, and shopping.
