Why are Christians so reviled on Yahoo Answers?
What have they done to deserve so much contempt that you come here to mock, troll, blame, and hate. and barely ask any serious questions? What have they done to you? DO you feel threatened that your house is going to get blown up? Are they such horrible people? If you were in a crisis, would you turn down the Red Cross, a soup kitchen, or help from the Salvation Army?
@ Louis Wu Are you aware that the "Christians' who were persecuting during the Civil Rights movement were mostly Christians, themselves? The African American community is quite a devoted religious group, especially in the 60s. Is there something wrong with thinking that LGBT is wrong and unnatural. None of them are being hanged over a bridge or being run over by traditionally Christian governments. Check and see if you can find such hospitality anywhere else.

“Theists, especially Christians, try to control and restrict us based on their views.
If all Christians stop crusading against science, education, culture, art, sex and sexuality, religious freedom and such, stop dishonestly misrepresenting your beliefs as facts, and stop telling everybody else they're going to be tortured throughout eternity unless they join you, I assure you that you won't encounter nearly as much hostility.”
-People who don't like their beliefs being laughed at shouldn't have such funny beliefs.- anon.
It's called a *consequence*; Have a 5 year old explain that word to you.
‘Religious apologists complain bitterly that atheists and secularists are aggressive and hostile in their criticism of them. I always say: look, when you guys were in charge, you didn’t argue with us, you just burnt us at the stake. Now what we’re doing is, we’re presenting you with some arguments and some challenging questions, and you complain.’ A.C. Grayling
‘There once was a time when all people believed in God and the church ruled. This time was called the Dark Ages.’ Richard Lederer
-With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.-

The real hatred comes from their father, Satan. He hates Jesus Christ and therefore all of his followers as described in the following Bible verse:
18 If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his lord.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will keep yours also. 21 But all these things will they do to you for my name’s sake, because they don’t know him who sent me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 He who hates me, hates my Father also. 24 If I hadn’t done among them the works which no one else did, they wouldn’t have had sin. But now have they seen and also hated both me and my Father. 25 But this happened so that the word may be fulfilled which was written in their law, ‘They hated me without a cause.’

"The hatred of the world"
Read the book of John in the bible
Jesus said "if the world hates you just know that the world hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world than the world would love you as it's own; but because you are not of the world of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you"

Many Christians come across as arrogant and expecting others to believe like them. So, that going to bring discontent.

Mostly because they are so arrogant. It is one thing to believe in some magic man in the sky but don't get so defensive about it when questioned since you have absolutely no evidence to back up your theory.

'christians' are bigots.
In the middle of the 20th century, they hated African-Americans.
After a while, that got too uncomfortable for the morons.
So, they pivoted to LBGTs.
'chrisians' have to have a target for their hate because they are ignorant, dim-witted slime.

Oh. There's something you ought to know about the "Salvation" Army.
They are so opposed to LGBT rights that they have lobbied multiple times for exemptions from Federal and Local anti-discrimination laws, and threatened to withdraw their services.

They refused to provide shelter to a homeless gay couple, unless they broke up and renounced their homosexuality.

They refused to provide a transgender woman with shelter that was congruent with her gender presentation, instead insisting she house with men. She chose instead to sleep on the sidewalk and died from the cold.

Speaking of gender, there was also this charming incident where one of their hostels refused to open the door for a 17-year-old victim who had just been brutally raped (or even call the police for her) because that particular hostel had a strict “men only” policy.

During the Bush Administration (thanks to ‘faith-based initiatives’) they fired about 20 long-time employees (Jewish, Muslim, Hindu and Gay), simply for refusing to sign the organization’s statement of Christian belief.

You'll find me in a soup kitchen when I have time to help, but to hell with the Salvation Army and Red Cross. The majority of the Christians here are arrogant pissants, that answers your question.

I know right. But the more non-Christians come to this place it gives Christians more chances to help them. They can not change our minds, but we might change theirs.
