Is insisting on special rights and complaining a sin?
In Numbers 11 verse 1 it is written "and when the people complained it displeased the Lord , and the Lord heard it, and His anger was kindled and the fire of the Lord burned among them and consumed them which were in the uttermost parts of the camp"
Paul tells us that the journey of the Israelites through the wilderness is as an example for us 1 corinthians 10 1-6, then when we complain and insist on special rights are we not displeasing the Lord God also?
crocoduck hunter, God was angry because He had delivered them out of slavery, and did great wonders to bring them out of Egypt by a mighty Hand, so God was justified in His anger. the same as you would be justified if your children constantly complained about you and the shelter you provide for them, would you not tell them to pack their bags?
greg homosexuals asks for special rights, as the basic rights of any human being are 1 food, clothing and shelter, anything else is insisting in special rights for a special interest group.
non sequitor. notice that pork is eaten and it passes through the stomach and so on, whereas homosexuals sin agains their own bodies, and it is called an abomination, pork is known to carry diseases like T.B and they were travelling through the wilderness, it was known as a dietary law. beside I was asking if insisting on special righs is a sin, as they are asking for a special right to have legalization for their perverted sex.

Yes it is. We have all done it from time to time. Things don’t go our way and we are complaining about this and .
And for some it becomes a bad habit for many (I don't think the net has help there) ! The Bible clearly says that complaining is a sin. And it's talking more about the worst of complaining. Where it's a whine of how unfair life is or how it was? We make excuses . It does shows an attitude that you are ungrateful and bitter. It often tests God’s patience.
1 Corinthians 10:10 - And do not grumble, as some of them did—and were killed by the destroying angel. (NIV)
Also the scriptures state that it can lead to further disobedience. Along with complaining comes pouting. If you complain too much or focus on all the negative things, you can lose sight of all the good things God does in your life. This can lead to an attitude where you lose faith and cause others to lose faith, too.
Psalm 106:25 - They grumbled in their tents and did not obey the LORD. (NIV)
Things will go wrong in your life. A poor childhood, A terrible event, A break up, A fight with your friend. These things happen. You can spend your time complaining about them to such an extent it holds you back from many things, taking your eyes off of God, or you can find a way to make things better. You can remember all the other things God has provided.

As for complaining, it is probably often a sin, but more often than not, most likely a venial sin (small sin).
As for the Israelites complaining in the wilderness, a lot of different factors would have to be taken in----they did do some pretty bad stuff at times and did not show trust in the Lord. When God was angry at them, I'm sure He had more than right justification. Complaining can come in a lot of different situations and ways, so to just generally ask if complaining is a sin is like asking if one complained to their mother about the bed not being comfortable to if one complained that their was a whore and a b****----as you could see, there would be quite a difference of the magnitude and severity of the sin.

If anything beyond "food, clothing, and shelter" are special rights, then asking for special rights is something that applies to everyone. Singling out homosexuals is as useful as singling out people that are 5' 6" tall with red hair. They want the "special right" not to be singled out for disparate treatment, too.
In any case, sin is in the eye of the judgmental. Some people consider eating pork to be a sin. If pork is sinful, it is because people declare to be so. Pork doesn't care.
Only you can decide whether seeking fairness is a sin. I don't think that it is.

You are confusing to me but to the Spirit you won't be. If you have received Jesus (accepted Him as Lord and your Salvation) than you have received the Holy Spirit who teaches us. This is how we know Jesus is all He is and all the Word says He is. Otherwise we are like the heathens on here who have no idea on who He is. So ask The Lord and look at the Scripture of what you are looking/searching for and than LISTEN. There are no grumbling or causing of division to be done. That is sin. Taking requests to The Lord and asking for what He promised is not grumbling. Be thankful for where you are - it could be worse. Bad situations you may be in like sin or someone else's sin or abuse or some guys sex slave need to be brought to God so He can remove you. Otherwise we stay. It's a choice. God can't intervene for you if you don't ask and sometimes obey. Someone has to be praying for you. You have to be in contact with God. Otherwise the god of this world continues to kill steal and destroy. If something has to do with any of those three things or subcategory - it isn't God so YOU come against it. Bring someone with you if ya need to. God bless. You already have all you need to receive every desire of your heart and remove every sin sick evil done against you.

So complaining is reason enough to burn people alive, according to your holy book?
Yeah, great set of morals.
