  • Young Earth Creationists: When you force yourselves to lie in an attempt to 'disprove' evolution...?

Do you ever stop and wonder if it's the right thing to do? Do you ever stop and question why you have to lie in an attempt to "support" your own beliefs?

I'm referring only to those Creationists who lie deliberately of course. The ones who are corrected on something and then continue to keep saying it anyway.

  • Creationists: Why would oil and pharmaceutical companies hire evolutionary biologists?

I think most would agree that many of these larger companies care only about the bottom line. Why then do you think oil companies hire evolutionary biologists to help locate oil? Why do you think pharmaceutical companies hire them to help develop vaccines and treatments for various diseases?

If evolution is false as Creationists claim, it seems odd that these types of companies would spend so much money on things that apparently don't work.

Note: This isn't "evidence for evolution" or anything, I'm simply curious how Creationists rationalize this.

  • Creationists: What is "genetic information"?

I may not have a degree in genetics but I find it telling that the only ones who ever use the term "genetic information" in anything but an extremely loose manner are Creationists.

Thus I would like to give those on this forum a chance to explain precisely what they mean by "genetic information" and how you tell how much "information" an organism has.

Given that I've seen so many claim that evolution must be false because it provides "no new information", I'm curious how you quantify this. Feel free to cite any peer reviewed papers on the subject, I'm sure it will be most entertaining.

  • Question for all the unbelievers out there?

I just wanted to let you all know that was living about 2,000 years ago and spent my time walking across the Pacific Ocean, turning water into Vodka, and making the blind into comic book superheroes.

Now that I've made all those claims, would you believe me? After all, you can't disprove any of what I just said right? Feel free to worship me anytime.

Note: This is aimed at certain religious apologists.

  • Anti-Homosexual advocates, a question for you?

If you're so opposed to homosexual marriage because it goes against "the definition of marriage" then would you still be opposed if we gave them every single legal benefit of marriage but called it something else?

Also, did it upset you the same amount when the word "hood" went from describing parts of clothing to also describing parts of a city? Do you guys protest about those types of word changes as well?

  • Need some Christian help?

Problem: The women in my are just aren't all that intelligent or attractive and the few who are tend to be already taken. Combine this with the costs associated with them and I'm just at a real disadvantage here.

Solution: I need one of the Christians to help me "Pray the Straight Away". Several of you guys keep saying that being gay is a choice but I'm having trouble being turned on by guys. Could one of you help me choose to become gay? Also, if you could make me prefer fat hairy guys instead of the physically fit ones that would be great too. There's a lot more selection then.

    Thanks in advance.

  • How deluded does one have to be...?

In order to proclaim that a deity killing children is perfectly justified simply because "he gave them life so he can take it away" while still claiming moral superiority over those who do not believe their particular bronze age myths?

Would these kinds of people technically qualify for mental treatment at the nearest psychiatric ward?

  • The Bible tells me that I can take slaves from the nations around me...?

Since I live in the U.S., does this mean I can take slaves from Canada? I'd be the coolest guy on the block if I had a few of them.

  • When Noah and his family got onto their ark...?

How did they determine which among them would carry human parasites? Also, which one got stuck with pubic lice?

    I accidentally dropped it.

  • Why does the Bible keep having to remind people that "God is good"?

We didn't need to be told that Harry Potter was the good guy in his book, or that Darth Vader was a bad guy in the Star Wars universe.

Yet the Bible seems adamant about reminding us who the "good guy" is on a regular basis. Why do you suppose that is?

  • Fundamentalists: Could I get some help this Valentines?

See, women around here are just too hard to please with too little satisfaction. Given that it's Valentines day and all it's a bit depressing how little sex is to be had.

However, you guys keep claiming that gay guys have all sorts of sex all the time so I figured I'd give that a shot. Problem is, I just can't find a way to get myself aroused by other men. Perhaps you guys could help me since you know all about the choice involved in sexual orientation? I'd be really grateful.

Also, bonus points if you can make me interested in fat hairy men instead of just the typical stud. There's a lot more of the former around than the latter so it'd probably be a lot easier to get laid.

  • Since some people on here insist on misusing the word religion...?

Can we start calling Christianity a Slaving Ring?

Since definitions of words no longer apply anymore.

  • Theists: Why do you insist on trying to call atheism a religion?

A religion in your view is a good thing isn't it? Yet I hear many (not all) theists attempting to do anything they can to claim that atheism is somehow a religion as well, often times using it as though it's an insult or removes credibility.

Does this mean that you guys actually realize that religion is silly and that's why you try to pin that same label on atheists? Or are you just confused?

  • Spiritually Curious: Do Christians believe that lying is a good form of argument?

I noticed a few times recently where people would post questions about things like the fact that the Bible mentions the Earth being flat (aka, a circle) and yet I see many Christians going off and even saying that it says "sphere", when it clearly doesn't.

Not just one or two either, but most of them seem to think this.

So do Christians really believe that lying about something so obvious is a good way to show how correct their arguments are or are they just all ignorant of fifth grade geometry?
