Anyone else think it has been a unusually cool summer?

I think it's been a rather cool summer compared to last year. Anyone else think so? Could we be in for a cold snowy winter this year?

I have noticed where I am the patterns last for a few weeks then shift:

In Kingston in stayed cool up until mid June, then from mid June to mid July it was scorching hot with very little rain, then from late July to mid August it's been cooler then normal but sunny, now it's been scorching hot for past week.

However, overall in Canada it's been a cooler and wetter summer then usual and it all has to do with the jet stream. There was been a big ridge over the west (stretching north to Alaska), it dips from Alberta to Ontario, and it becomes zonal to the east coast, this means hot/dry weather in BC, cooler/wet weather all the way east.

Where I live (Michigan), much of the summer was cool.

June was relatively cool, especially at the beginning, but there were some warm days later that month.

The average temp. was 66, 2 degrees lower than the normal 68 or so.

July was relatively warm between the 5th and 22nd, the end of the month was cold.

The average temp. was 70, 2 degrees lower than the normal 72.

August has had many different conditions. It started off warm and humid, then last week was cool, and this week is almost a heat wave for this year (tomorrow is forecasted to be only the 7th 90-degree day this entire year.) But overall, the average temperature between Aug. 1-19 is only 64, 6 degrees below average. This follows a very cold March and April, and a relatively warm May overall.

So yes, I agree that this summer has been cool.

After seeing some of the other answers, I am very glad that the temperature never reached 95 where I live (but some things are not as pleasant on days where the high temperature is not even 70)

It definitely has, but it has still been hot here in South Carolina. The normal high for this time of year is 90 degrees, so ten degrees below average is still in the 80's lol. I'm not complaining because it has been nice this Summer with the below average temperatures, but it is still hot though. Far from cool like the weather channel has been calling it.

Where do you live? I live in PA, we have had a very hot and humid summer, but few days over 100. We usually had a couple 100+ days, but the constant rain has prevented them. I would guess the average temp all summer long is higher than normal. It's been wacky.

I live in South Carolina and it has been hot and humid and usual here. We had a cold front a few days ago because of the rain but nothing out of the norm. We don't get snow near the beach.
