My best reference is unavailable?

I am looking for a new job and my best reference is about to be out of the country for about a month and will generally not be available for phone calls or email. I don't want to put my job search on hold until he gets back, but can I add a footnote to my reference list I provide that states this so they don't think that the person is ignoring them or doesn't want to provide a reference?

I was thinking about something like: Note: Mr. Smith will be traveling abroad during the month of September and generally will not be available until his return.

That way, they can still contact him when he gets back, but would not misinterpret a phone call that is not returned.

Thanks!

Update:

Note: I have other references available, but I feel that this person is my best reference. By the time I find a job and they are the point of checking references, he may very well be back. But, if they check early, they may not be able to reach him.

Update 2:

Note: I have other references available, but I feel that this person is my best reference. By the time I find a job and they are the point of checking references, he may very well be back. But, if they check early, they may not be able to reach him.

Update 3:

Note: I have other references available, but I feel that this person is my best reference. By the time I find a job and they are the point of checking references, he may very well be back. But, if they check early, they may not be able to reach him.

That sounds good. Instead of "until his return" perhaps a month or season would be more concise.

I desperately hope that you have more than one reference. And be sure your friend writes you a glowing recommendation before he leaves as well. You don't want it to be discounted all together.

    Good luck

It means that a computer between the computer that requests a Facebook API service and the computer that provides the actual service has refused the request. This usually happens when that computer knows that it cannot service the request or would take too long to service the request. It's kind of like if you go to Burger King, see the line is too long, and so walk out rather than wait. This both protects you from waiting too long and protects someone who desperately needs to eat at Burger King from having to get on line behind you. It's one of the ways Facebook prevents failures from spreading further than they already have.

I won't worry if I were you. You are the one who is applying for the job, not your reference.

Just put his name anyway. If they want to contact him, they will even afterward.

Reference serves the purpose of making sure you ARE not a bad person, rather than you ARE a good person.
