What is a good reason to file for child support?
Women do it out of spite sometimes but I want to know a real good reason to apply for it.

For the child!! You had the child you need to provide. A single parent most if the time can not give the child all it's needs. So child support is there for the non custodial parent to take responsibility of the child they helped make. There are situations were the custodial parent got married and makes well enough to support the child. But when it's a court order you gotta pay or go to jail. Or sign you parental rights away and only worry about back pay if your behind.

I don't know what women you are talking about but usually when going to court child support is a given. But check the links below for more info. The way I look at it while together you both supported and took care of your kids right? So now that your are no longer together does that mean it should just be put on the custodial parents shoulders? So the non custodial parent can go out an have all the fun without any financial responsibility towards kids they brought into the world? I think not.

Because they need the money, and because a child has two parents who should equally be providing for this child to give it the best possible chance in life. To turn down child support in my view is, unless you are extremely wealthy, extremely selfish as this money could go to making a better life for that child, in the future if not right now. A woman never knows if she might lose her job or need extra money for a child's studies for example.

you have kids & the non custodial parent isn't supporting the kids.
I don't know why people think women "go for child support out of spite". they don't. they have kids w/ someone who isn't holding up their end of the deal & they are probably angry because they've been left to shoulder the entire burden.
if the non custodial parent would hold up their end of the responsibilities, then the courts & welfare wouldn't need to get involved.
