What do you think of comparing animes?

People be like: DBZ is way better than Naruto! Naruto is way better than DBZ! Actually Bleach is way better! No Attack on Titan is! DBZ is the original! NOOO no anime beats Fullmetal Alchemist! Yes, Ao no Exorsist does!

I mean seriously, how can you decide how one anime is better than others? The elements that make each anime differ greatly from one to the other (in a lot of cases). And you cannot simply compare old anime with new ones, because they are just so different. The writers of newer animes take ideas and refine them as they keep making anime.

Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Pokemon, Ao no Exorcist, Blood +, Attack on Titan ... so many amazing anime out there, how can people say the others do not compare to one's amazingness? I mean, I thought I had heard it all p_p All anime is great in its own way...

and so that's my opinion, what's yours?

Update:

You can do an overall rating and see which is the best anime on the charts, but is that really the best anime (or manga, since it was brought up)? There many incredible and amazing animes/mangas out there that have not been discovered. Saying that one beats all others is a very narrow view, because tomorrow you could easily find one that you like better.

I am a Naruto fan till the end, but honestly speaking, Fairy Tail comes very close (of course, in my opinion).

I do agree in that it depends on how the anime makes you feel throughout and at the end of the story. And one anime can have different effects on different people. I like the first three answers (=

I don't like to compare anime with each other, especially good ones. The really good ones should be compared with movies and live-action shows since some anime take a massive dump on all of them.

    FMA > Game of Thrones

Darker Than Black > Breaking Bad

    Gundam Wing > Pacific Rim

It's my opinion that these are facts

They can be compared depending on how you felt when watching them and the strength of the emotion: sadness, happiness, tense, funny, suspenseful, mysterious, amazement... Also how many times can you watch it. But most of all is which manga or anime can you wait the least for after finishing the previous chapter or episode. My favorite by far is One Piece because of it's amazing plot, char development, and so much more. Next would be Code Geass, Naruto, Bleach, DBZ, Death Note, Full Metal Brotherhood, Fairy Tail, and Ao Exorcist. But every week is torture because of my impatience for the next OP chapter to release.

Yea in the form of overall ratings you can compare and probably give a score but not comparing on a forum or comment section as it is a dick move.

The greatness of anime has to do with how a person feels about the movie. Maybe its too childish, maybe its too sincere, maybe its not enough fun... You should be able to put a sincerity, fun, creativity, childish meter, etc. on anime before these things can be determined.
