Can anyone C/C A Slip From the Future?

A Slip From the Future

Stepping stone to stone,

the water cold and clear.

I find myself upon my back,

grinning ear to ear.

My crossing, a near success,

but for a future plan,

Strayed from the task at hand,

to devise a bridge's span.

Update:

A true shortcoming, designing a better way before I complete the one I'm on.

I love puns.

Update 2:

I would not have been grinning either.

I try to plan and organize but I slip on stones often. I like the part about grinning- better to have humor which at times I lack. You have a knack with light-hearted humor from what I've read of your poetry. I often read but don't comment on all I've read. You seem to have a natural gift towards the sunny side, people need that.

Long legs do not make a bridge without the "guide" ropes! lol Fun twist on a simple crossing gone awry although with humor awry!

clever and actually seems quite sincere, I almost got some very clear images but the sound of the water distracted me...
