Remedies for severe sinus congestion?

I developed a cold a few days ago, and while just about all of my symptoms are better now, my nose is still seriously congested. I've never had it this bad in my life.

Over the last few days, it's primarily the right nostril that is clogged up the worst, though sometimes it's both sides. As the days go on it seems to get worse, not better.

I've tried using basic nose spray, which helped on day 1 but hasn't been even the slightest bit effective since. I've also used the Neti Pot a couple of times, and while I can get a steady stream of saltwater solution to go through my sinuses, the moment I stop pouring and blow my nose, the right side is congested again. I've also tried allergy/cold medication/decongestant, and that hasn't made even a small difference.

I am having trouble sleeping and my uneven breathing has given me a headache and a stomachache, so I'm really desperate to find something that works. Please, please help!

Allergies and a cold/sinus have very similar symptoms.

Either ways, you could "At Your Own Risk" try some of these Natural Remedies:

**Read the information on the link below before attempting.**

    1) Cayenne Pepper Tea: Boil a cup of water, or use cool water, add 1/4(one quarter) teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper Powder, if hot, let it cool a minute, then mix well and sip it till it's all gone. (or just gargle with it if you just have sore throat or if it's too spicy to drink).

Your nose/throat/stomach will thank you soon after the third sip. lol

    2) Ginger Tea: Bring to a boil a cup of water with 6+ fresh slices of ginger, let it cool for a minute(add 1tsp of honey/optional) and sip it till it's all gone. You may also chew/eat a slice or more,

if the pungent feeling is too strong, just add a pinch of dry Thyme.(ginger is also good for Nausea, Dizziness, Anxiety & Stress).

    3) Chew/eat half clove of garlic (raw) ..... then drink half a cup of warm water.

    4) Add 1 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar (raw-unfiltered) to half a glass of water and drink it.

    5) .... Repeat any of the above every 6 to 12 hrs. even after symptoms have subsided. (health boost).

    6) ....

The above remedies are also helpful for acid/reflux/heartburn/gas/stuffy nose/sore throat/cold & sinus & allergies symptoms.

After all, reading might/could lead to ... knowledge. ?;-)

Use Q-tips to gently clean inside the ears. Too much earwax build up can cause all sorts of illness.

Also, if you eat some Yogurt with Active Bacteria's Culture, it might help too. (if you're not allergic to milk/dairy products).

When in doubt, consult your doctor.

I hope you find your cure today.

Have a healthy happy life. :)

sometimes nasal sprays can cause a condition called rebound congestion when taken for more than 5 days or so. Hydration is most important to thin these secretions. if a decongestant/mucolytic is not helping try taking an anti-histamine like sudafed. take it in the mornings as it may cause insomnia. hot showers help thin secretions. the neti-pot has two options, one for isotonic solution and one for hypertonic solution, try the hypertonic. make sure to boil the water you put in the neti pot for at least 15 to eliminate any waterborne pathogens. Hydration and vitamin C will help boost the healing process and immunity. an NSAID like ibuprofen may help with nasal swelling. try vicks rub under the nose to help relieve temporary unpleasant symptoms. try a humidifier if you have one and prop yourself up with pillows in a comfortable position. good luck.

I have tried many oils and potions and remedies but the best is to sit in a shower or stand up and let warm water hit your nose you will want to have a handkerchief handy stay in their for like 10 to 15 minutes and you will fill like you have to blow your noise if you still feel congested try it again the next day sometimes time and patience is the only cure along with taking care of yourself.
