Will my pet allergy get worse?

When I was a little kid I was pretty allergic to dogs but as time went on the allergy to them stopped being as bad. I often play with beagles and pitbulls at my school and nothing really happens. Last night i played with my aunts Chihuahua and the only thing that happened was my chin got itchy and i don't even know if it was from the dog. I've always wanted a puppy and my parents think I can finally get one. I know sometimes if you spend enough time with them you can become immune and wont be allergic anymore but i also read that it could worsen but im not sure if it was for pet allergies. My allergies have gotten progressively better over the years so do you think they might completely vanish or get worse? And i know there are some "hypoallergenic" , as they call them, but my parents don't have any interest in them cause they want a larger dog. Any help would be greatly appreciated:) P.S I had to repost this question cause the answers weren't being displayed.

Here is a list of large breeds that are hypoallergenic:http://www.dogbreedslist.info/hypoallergenic-dog-b...

I was surprised to see an Afghan Hound on the list because they have absolutely gorgeous long hair! The Bouvier des Flanders also has thick fur and the males top out at about 150 pounds and would be my pick for a large breed. They are very trainable, great watchdogs, good with kids but need daily grooming. The Giant Schnauzer is a wonderful dog and weighs up to about 80 pounds.

Check out the website and click on the hyperlink for each dog. There are also some Medium sized dogs they might consider.

About the allergies. You may find that being around a dog daily will bring some of your allergies back unfortunately. There are medications that you can take with little side effects that will help if that happens.

Pollen, mold, pets, or dust mites? If your eyes are watering and your nose is stopped up, you may be more interested in what will get rid of your symptoms than what’s causing them. Knowing that, though, can help you get lasting relief.

If your allergies act up at certain times of the year, you may be allergic to pollen. In the spring, pollinating trees are usually to blame for allergies. In summer, grasses and weeds mainly make pollen. In fall, it's weeds, especially ragweed.

If your symptoms tend to last all year, you may be allergic to dust mites, pet dander, or mold. Outdoors, mold usually peaks in late summer and early fall. But it can be around all year.

You can be allergic to more than one thing, and you can have seasonal and year-round allergies. In fact, it’s common for people who have allergies to be allergic to more than one trigger.

    Thank you.
