Creating the first sentence? help?!?
Hello,
I have a rough draft narrative that I am writing, but I cant seem to think of a good first sentence that will start off the paper. it needs to somewhat state what the paper is going to be about, but even more important it needs to draw the reader in. my topic is telling about when my little sister was born and how i reacted, and how it changed our family. i dont want the first sentence to sound corny, or inexperienced. If it helps, I am in 9th grade. Or if anyone knows a good website that generates first sentences for you, or helps you create a first sentence, that might help to. Any good help is welcomed, and thanks so much to anyone who helps!

Everyone was so excited, jumping up and down and hugging each other.
"What is it?" I asked, getting caught up in the excitement.
'It's a baby', replied a voice above the noise.
"Yes, but what IS it?, I almost cried in frustration.
An arm closed round my shoulders and drew me in.
'You have a little sister.' said the kindly voice of a nurse.
*Perhaps just throwing yourself straight into the essay might be the easiest way?

Find a really pithy quotation about a new sibling. failing that, Alan Bennett is always dependable, "Every family has a secret, and that secret is that it's not like other families."
