The attack was twelve years ago: it is no longer news. There will (I hope) be some commemorations on the anniversary, but you cannot expect the media to give much space or time to a story as old as that. There are other things gong on in the world which call urgently for attention.

No but more people are concerned with what is happening now, ie Syria. I am sure any commemorations will be shown on the News as they happen.
Although it does still appear that some people still do not know very much about 9/11
