If you have tried several probiotics (supplements)*~which brand is your favorite and why?

I get refrigerated acidophilis and it seems the best one is one of the more expensive ones~and yes I eat yogurt, sour kraut, blah blah blah. But there's some kind on the shelf supposed to be good for your gut/intestines~very very pricey (forgot the name). WHICH one seems to work the best for you and how could you tell the difference in your experience?

Update:

For me there were a couple of brands that actually worked, and BTW, GREAT :-) So happy I take them. ANd notice a difference for sure when I do not take them. Everybody is different I guess...

Apple Cider Vinegar - 30mL in a cup of water - works better than probiotics for me. When I have natural yoghurt (I noticed you said you have it) it is full fat potset Greek-style plain natural yoghurt; nothing else comes close.

Considering you need a course of probiotics repeatedly; are you sure you have addressed all your food intolerances ? Are you lactose intolerant ? -> Lacteeze.

Or maybe your problem is Raffinose - cruciferous vegetables and legumes contain this indigestible trisaccharide, which is composed of galactose, fructose, and glucose. Lemon juice and fennel seeds help you to digest the raffinose in broccoli. Here is a recipe for broccoli with lemon and fennel :

I have developed diverticulitis and I have to take them, along with a stool softener. If I eat the wrong food, the consequences are terrible without them. I buy the one with 20 billion active bacteria at Walmart for about $17.

Just eat any live culture yogurt and it's all fine. Don't waste money on all the fancy junk. Simpler is better. I buy plain yogurt and add fresh or frozen fruit and sometimes top it off with Cheerios.

I buy the off brand for heartburns and then I buy the Nature Made brand for supplements..because I have coupons for them. I have no problems with taking them.

My wife used to use Activia and I drink Yakult. Once she tried Yakult, she stopped the Activia. So now we both drink a Yakult daily. Yes, it works.

My thought - they are a waste of money. You take them and....what happens ? Nothing. Take them if you like - I'm pretty sure they are one of those things that we all get told "you must take this for your bowel's sake" , and we all happily part with our money, and they get rich. And we get nothing at all.
