Opinion: Guns and power in general?
So when the news of George Zimmerman going off the top with the Trayvon case and now the assault of his father in-law. It really makes me think about how power can go to people's head. My friend was speaking about how when people she knew had been trained with a gun she found they got just a bit too cocky, thinking they were "invincible" and such, that no one could hurt them because they owned a gun. So what does everyone think? Just how much power can someone get til it goes over their head and they either do something stupid and in jail or stupid and 6 feet under?

I agree that some people who are overzealous about power may be inclined toward gun ownership. But that doesn't mean that all gun-owners are power crazy.
Perhaps as many as 100 million Americans own a gun. There are twice as many to three times as many guns registered to Americans. Only a fraction of that number have been charged with a crime, much less a gun crime.

Why on earth are you believing that story?
The 911 call was made by Shellie Zimmerman, a convicted perjurer. After police came and found no gun, she was forced to alter her story saying she saw no gun, while in her 911 call she said Zimmerman had his hand on a gun.
Her father, who was allegedly punched in the face, chose not to press charges. Maybe that's because he wasn't actually hit in the face?

Ya know only the government should have guns because individuals having guns challenges the states authority right? Wrong. People have no respect for the individual today and that's why they want our right to defend ourselves put to bed. Well, the way things are going you'll have your way soon. Many will die because of it and if you think you're part of the club that's exempt, think again.

I think it's more likely a personality flaw that gets "activated" by the ownership of a gun which is seen by them as a recognition of them being in authority.

Two gun owners I am scared of are the ego you described and people that carry it around like a toddler carries their woobie.
