Pregnant and i have horrible constipation...tmi i kno but this sucks!!?

so i will be on this pain medication for the rest of my life for RA and i do not have a choice of stopping it without being in severe pain. so i am on a narcotic pain killer that would be strong for most people but b.c i have been on it for 5 years i have a high tolerance...I am almost 24 years old and i am 7wks3d pregnant....a side effect of my medication is constipation...but it has seem to have gotten 100x worse where i MIGHT go once a week...im very tired of this already and i just want to know is there anything safe that i can take.....and please dont lecture me about my medication, my son was born while i was on it and was perfectly fine and came home after a week. i have to take this medication or i would not be able to move because the pain is so bad....so please dont judge me. i am a great mom who just has a very painful disease.

Look, believe it or not right now I also have constipation. It really sucks and since I go to school I cant concentrate. I feel like I need to go but I cant. Anyway my mum is good with health and she knows. Eat a lot of fruit. Nothing dry like bread, pasta and biscuits. Nothing too heavy, nothing too spicy and nothing sugar. Strict Diet. I found that figs help A LOT I ate half (cuz it was disgusting) and in a few minutes I went. Peaches also help and tomatoes. after its over yo must still be on a diet for about 2 more weeks. I though it was over and stupidly I ate ice cream, lollies and bread. Next day I had it again. Hope this helps

Honey, what I would recommend you do is take Citrucel, it is a natural drink that you can take and it really helps, when I was pregnant with my daughter, and had terrible constipation also, it really helped when nothing else did, and it will not get in the way of your medication since it is a natural fiber drink.

I still take it to this day and I would recommend it to anyone!! If that does not work, then talk to your doctor about what he or she can recommend that you can take to make you feel better.

But try Citrucel it worked for me♥♥♥

Colase (aka docusate). 100 mg twice a day. One in morning, one in evening. It's a stool softener and it is really helpful. Miralax is great too. It's gentle and really helps regularity. Good luck
