im 14 and i envy the 80's and 90's alot because the economy was good we america wasnt a joke like today why is it seem tht way?

Sometimes and in some ways, things in the past were better.
But we also make greater note of the greener grass where we can't go.
Appreciate the past, but do live in the present, working toward your future.

Every generation looks backward to when things were "better."
In fact the people of the 80's and 90's longed for the 50's and 60's.
Don't envy the 80's and 90's.
People were overdosing on drugs and dropping like flies from AIDS.

Past economic conditions were not always good. America is not a joke but America is not guaranteed peace and prosperity. There is increased competition from other countries. The population is becoming more and more mixed and this causes some inevitable conflict.
