I'm Not Overweight, Why Do I Have Stretch Marks?

I'm 19 and weigh about 135lbs. I'm not ridiculously skinny and I'm not overweight, but for some reason I still have stretch marks! All over my rear and my thighs. And its not just a few marks here and there, its like a webbing of them. Why did I get them? Are there really any treatments for them that actually work?

Some people simply get them from growing. I have the same problem, although mine aren't really noticeable unless you look closely. I am 5'11 1/2 and weigh 136 lbs (yes, I know, I'm only just inside my BMI) and I have had stretchmarks since I was about 16 years old. Other people are just prone to them, they don't have to be from weight gain. Some of the creams out there might actually work, but I don't know anyone who has used them. The best thing would probably be to just use trial and error: use one, if that doesn't work, move to the next. Asking a pharmacist would be a good place to start.

You are right, your weight is great and not overweight at all.

However. As you see this is one of the myths that is rampant, that only overweight people can get stretch marks. Which is as you can see, false.

It all boils down to good old genetics. You can't do anything about it, you can't change anything about it.

You can however, take care of your skin even more so it is stronger at preventing new stretch marks, either with good nutrition or good creams.

But that is another thing altogether, you want treatments for the current ones, and for those

I recommend that you take a look at our review database and find a treatment that fits your needs(some are more expensive, some work on certain skin types) so recommending any specific treatment is pretty much a good guess.

    Hope this helps.

Basically, age and weight fluctuations do play a very large role in who is going to get stretch marks and who isn’t. Other factors, like genetics and hormones can also influence who suffers from stretch marks. But still, it doesn't mean that we cannot get rid of all stretch marks ever. In my opinion, you just need a natural remedy for your skin. It would be save for your stretch marks. You don't have to worry about chemical ingredients. There are various methods and ingredients that would be suitable for your stretch marks, example: Butcher Broom, Calendula, Centella, and Green Tea. Start using bio oil and cocoa butter immediately. Its due to hormonal changes at your age.
