I let my 15 year old son drive me home from the bar, because I had too much to drink.?
I was pretty drunk. I was going to call a taxi, but my son called to check on me to see if I was again the Dart champion for the county. (I WAS, 3RD YEAR IN A ROW!) He walked from the house to the bar (only 8 miles), and came in and drove me home. He DOES have his permit. My question: Could I get in trouble for being drunk while he is driving the car when he has a permit? I WAS giving him driving tips while we were going home. Like when I drive tipsy, how to close one eye and avoid seeing double.

Well legally I believe if he has his permit, as long as an adult, with their license is in the vehicle too he can do that! Not sure if its a dif law in your state but it's ok in mn. N honestly if ur pulled over I believe they wouldn't do anything even if it wasn't legal where u are since he is being a "designated driver" ....how sweet of him btw. 8 miles he walked for his dad? Very good son who cares very much of you. I think it's fine. My uncle had me do it once....but in my case I did not have my permit and was driving sooo bad lol while passing a cop, that he made me pull over so he could drive lol. Congrats on dart champ!

Don't worry about ONE incident.
But get on the phone to Alcoholics Anonymous right now.
The most awful thing a child can experience is seeing a parent drunk.

Yes, because in most states the adult has to be sober when driving with a minor and your setting a horrible example by telling him how to drive if he's drunk. Please do the right thing and take a taxi from now on.

Probably not, I mean it isn't the best idea but I highly doubt that it is illegal. If your son has some sort of legal government issued proof that he is capable of driving, I don't think it matters what state his passengers are in. I wouldn't recommend making it a regular thing though because if it is illegal then you can cope some serious crap. But if it was one of his friends that was drunk is that a different story? Would you be worried about it then, probably not. Don't fret :)

Yes
He's a minor accompanied by a drunk full licensed driver
Even if he's allowed to drive on a restricted permit he has to be supervised by a full license competent driver who's not intoxicated

Yes, you could be in a lot of trouble. Why are you out getting drunk? Do you have a problem? This is VERY bad parenting!

Don't let him ever do that! He could drink some, I think it might be illegal to do that so call a taxi next time!
