Sure they do. What else are they supposed to be working toward? Worship of God throughout eternity just because of who The Holy God is---Creator, Almighty, King of Kings and Lord of Lords? Nah, too boring of a concept for "important" mormons. They alone promote themselves as elite future gods, dontcha know? Why allow God to be a One God show, when they can call their own tunes someday? At least they seem to think so.... And God lets them. Until His lovingkindness toward sinners has that nasty abrupt awakening called death. Joe Smith found that one out quicker than he ever dared imagine. Reason why he died screaming in terror. Nothing as simple as being killed.

Source(s): Isaiah 14:13, 14 For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.' Is this Satan's end? Not hardly. For those mormons who will invariably fall back on claiming we "inherit" everything God is.... God is love. Would you be content to inherit love alone?

We believe that he came to show us the way back to God, our Father, exaltation being part of that. It is our goal to become like God and do as Jesus taught to become joint heirs of all that God has, or is this one of those parts of the Bible that other Christians reject?

I love this teaching as opposed to the thought that God just created this world and put man on it for no other reason than to be worshipped. It makes perfect sense to me that the God who said He created us in His own image put us here to give us the opportunity to learn, grow, be tested and to serve as part of an eternal plan of progression.

We had better believe it, because that's what Jesus' Christians believed.

    Clement of Alexandria (c. 150-215):

"[T]he Word of God became man, that thou mayest learn from man how man may become God."

Yes, they believe that people can potentially become gods and that our god was once a man.

Because of Jesus Christ, we know so much more about God and how to be one with him.

  • We believe that He came to teach us a better way, and to pay the price for our sins, as per the will of the Father--just as He states in the Bible.

    Yes, they do.

And what do I care what Clement of anywhere says. It is the Bible that matters and it says that you will become like him but that there is only one God so we will not become gods.
