Why are these Republicans trying to shut down the government and how can we put a stop to this nonsense?
See this previous post about publishing a list of the politicians that are causing government gridlock. Let's vote these people out and vote people in that are willing to work together despite different points of view.
Who are the "Tea Party" activists that are keeping anything from getting done in Washington? How about the ones who are trying for the 41st time to get the Health Care Bill defunded? How about all these people who should be voted out so that we could get people into government that are a part of the solution and not part of the problem?
Who are they?
Sarah Palin, Ron Paul, Walter Russell Mead, Michele Bachmann (House R MN), Jeff Duncan, Connie Mack IV,
Jeff Flake, Tim Scott, Joe Walsh, Steve King (House R IA), Allen West, Jason Chaffetz, Jim Demint (Senate R SC), Mike Lee, Michael Crapo, Dennis Kucinich, Dick Armey, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz
Thomas Coburn (Senate R OK), Steve Lonegan (Senate R-NJ), Tim Griffin (House R-AR), Louie Gohmert (House R-TX),
Marsha Blackburn (House R-TN), Doulglas Lamborn (House R-CO), Randy Weber (House R-TX), Kelly Ayotte (House R-NH)
We fought, how many, three unfunded wars. We are paying for practically everyone in this country without health insurance to go to the emergency room for their health care. Health care that the WHO ranks as 37th in the world. We don't make ANYTHING in this country anymore. Clothes, electronics, autos and everything we gave away. The housing market where I live is so overpriced that it is ridiculous. We charge everything in this country, much more than any foreign country that I have been in.
The republicans stated publicly when Obama was elected that they were going to block everything he did and that he was going to be a one term president and that is what they attempt to do with everything. How does Harry Reid change that thinking?
Runaway spending? What runaway spending. You’re listening to too many Republicans. We're not spending on research for industry because we don't make ANYTHING. We're not spending it on infrastructure, as our bridges and roads are the worst. We're not spending it on education because our kids are not the smartest kids on the block. We're not spending it on mental health. We're not spending it on the poor. We're not spending it on medical as the World Health Organization rates the U.S. 37th in the world. We're not spending it on mass transit as our transit system does not compare to other countries. We're not spending it on environmental issues. So where is the runaway spending?
Yes John Boehner (R-OH House) and Mitch McConnell (R-KY Senate) let’s look at the spending! Let’s really look at it and see exactly where it is instead of a bunch of sound bites.
I see Obama is spending some money again on the Climate Action Plan! We probably don't want to spend anything on that do we?
Rereading the post I do not see where it says anyone is in the congress. I do see when the person is in the House of Representatives, which is part of the Congress of the United States, it is stated in parenthesis and from which state.
The president doesn't create debt. Congress does! The president can propose a bill but the Congress , both House and Senate have to approve it. There are a few Republicans that are holding up a clean bill to fund the government. They are the ones who put up the blockades at the memorial. The Affordable Care act has been voted by Congress into law. It has nothing to do with the funding of the government NOW!
Obama is the President (he does not pass laws that spend our money). Nancy Pelosi is the minority leader in the House of Representatives. The majority being the Republicans. The Democratic Senate, Democratic House, and most Republicans in the House already have or would vote for a clean bill to fund the government. What has Nancy Pelosi got to do

If the Government is shut down, rest assured that the nonsense has stopped.

It is Obama and the Democrats who want the shutdown because they are hoping to damage the Republicans enough to keep control of the Senate and get control of the House

I think the shut down is GREAT. Washington is stopped from spending money, nothing wrong with that. Who needs to pay China a grant to research pig flatulence.

the president wants more debt, they GOP wants to strike a deal. the president did not want to compromise so he shut down the government, look up who tried to barricade the veterans at the memorial, it wasn't the republicans.

What's amusing is that most of the people you mention are not in the congress.
