WHY oh WHY do so many people not know that THEY ARE the government?

The political right has waged a consistent and effective campaign to demonize "the government." This rhetoric has caught on with the younger generation who cannot grasp the idea of the social contract.

If you or I were elected to office tomorrow would we suddenly lose all our common sense and become greedy, self-serving puppets of the corporations? No!

Personally, I like roads, schools, safe food, disease control, etc... Why doesn't the right ever talk about those services? Why is it always a juvenile and short-sighted attack on the most egregious examples of government misconduct?

We are not the government. Those crooks who make millions while in congress don't represent me at all. We no longer have a government of by and for the people. We have a government of, by and for the wealthy elite top 0.01% of income earners. They choose who will run for President for both parties so they never lose and we never win.

We USED to be the government. I lived in a time when the gov did work for the people but this has slowly eroded.

Yeah, but everyone thinks THEIR representative is great. It's all those other clowns that are the problem.
