Who Agrees With This Statement On Raising The Debt Ceiling?

'The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government can not pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that "the buck stops here." Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.'

One problem with that statement: we have had a debt since the start of the country. If getting rid of the debt is a definition of leadership, then only the presidents up to Andrew Jackson showed leadership(he paid off the last installment of the debt up to that time). The problem is the "reckless fiscal policies" Obama talks about there are HIS party's policies. The Democrats have been doing that for a long time. Social security is an example. Do you think you are paying for your social security down the line? No, you are paying for the current batch of recipients, your children and grandchildren will be paying for yours. It fits the definition of a pyramid scheme.

Id do and so does Barack Hussein Obama or at least he did when he was a senator, he even said it would be unpatriotic to raise the limit.

That statement was in his best interest at the time. He got into office and found out why things are like they are. Besides, he is not that honest of a person.

They unfortunately must raise the ceiling at this point. I agree with you though.
