Treating war as some sort of contest between good and evil; and "your side" was filled with knight-like soldiers who fought honorably and nobly, by the rules, with mercy and charity shown to the vanquished.

Promoting war as a vigorous, noble activity that is desirable for a nation's young men to take part in,where they can achieve fame and glory for heroic deeds and for serving their country.

This view was the standard one in Europe prior to WW1,and was the major motivation for so many volunteers in all the major participants volunteering for the armed forces in the first few months of the war.

The glorification of war refers to leaving out the pain, misery, horrors, devastated minds, territory, families etc, and instead talking about the comradery one feels as a soldier in war, the honor of battle and fighting for a noble cause, holding back the tide in a glorious defense of your side, overcoming in the enemy, stuff like that.
