Who had the bigger empire? Alexander the Great or Ghengis Khan?

By far the 2 greatest military commanders in history (albeit over a 1000 years separating the 2). I'm just wondering in terms of land and how much they attained which of these 2 incredible men had the strongest empire?

    Genghis.

You're wrong about one thing, though. Genghis khan wasn't one of the greatest military commanders in history. He wasn't even the greatest military commander amongst the Mongols. That title goes to his chief general Subedei (aka Subotai). He was the man who led the campaigns and won the battles.

    It was obviously Genghis Khan.

The Mongol Empire of Genghis Khan was similar in size to that of Alexander. It stretched across Asia to Central Europe. It was the largest contiguous and second largest empire in world history, five times greater than the Macedonian Empire, much larger than the Persian Empire and Roman Empire, and twice as large as the Arab Empire. The Empire of Genghis Khan was four times larger than that of Alexander the Great. So figure about 8,000,000 square miles. I exclude the successors of Genghis since they built on what he had already conquered.

    Hope this helped!!!! :D

    Alexander.

The amount of territory conquered by Genghis Khan wasn't nearly as much as many people seem to think.

His conquests were limited (if that's the right word) to Mongolia, parts of northern and western China, and Central Asia.

Russia, parts of Eastern Europe,Iran and parts of the Middle East, and the bulk of China were all conquered by Genghis' successors,NOT by him.
