uncertified fitness training, illegal?

I have been studying for my fitness trainer certification for a year and I take my test in december. (Im already CPR/AED certified) I have this friend who just received her fitness trainer material about a week ago and she is advertising "affordable fitness training" session from her home. 1st of she is not even CPR/AED certified. Ive studied soo hard for the past year and I know as fitness trainers we have to know so much about the human body, and most importantly we have to do health screenings, and different workouts for people of different levels of fitness. I am sooo mad that she is doing this, she can seriously injure a client. Should I report her??? IDK what to do....Please give me good advice!

It's not illegal. You don't need to be certified to be a PT. Unless You're working for a gym / business

she can do personal training if she wants. she cant advertise that she is certified if she isnt tho. my friend is a personal trainer out of a popular franchise gym. hes been working a few weeks as a trainer, and probably hasnt made any headway in getting a certification altho that is the plan. i see nothing wrong with it. i have been cpr/aed certified, and that doesnt mean **** really. people can definitely train others without it.

i wouldn't hire a trainer who has no results of their own in trying to accomplish the goal im after anyways.

my 400lb bench and 550lb squat says a lot more to others then a certification will. i could work as a trainer, because i have gotten the results. there are certified personal trainers who are fatasses. i would never hire them

She's probably not a licensed business. She needs to know about personal liability and paying taxes. She can probably take clients but must pay state and federal taxes. Don't report her. She won't get any legitimate clients and will be back with some other business scheme soon. She's an opportunist.
