I'm getting Pokémon Y for my birthday and I still don't know who to pick as my starter Please help...?

Just go with your gut. From what I've played so far, the types are pretty well dispersed so there's no problem making a balanced team quickly.

I picked Fennekin just because I love fire types, but I thought Froakie would of also been a good choice, too. I doubt I would of been disappointed with either pick. I won't try and convince you to pick one over the other. Just go with your gut, regardless of what other reasoning you think you have.

Don't forget that you can also pick between Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur not too long after the start of the game. (a few hours in, depending on how much battling you do.)
