Why does my Cat clap?

It started about 4 to 5 years ago.

My cat will sit up straight on her back feet and stretch out her front paws into the air and clap her paws together.

No has tought the cat to do it.

Iv noticed other cats do this in videos, is it encoded in their brains?

That's just something your cat learned to do on his own I think! LOL. I know a cat that crouches just on her hind legs and holds her paws up like a squirrel when she wants attention. My cat rolls around on the ground and she licks and nibbles on everything when she's happy. My cat squeezes her face with her paws when she sleeps like she's having a nightmare or covering her eyes, but then she just lets out sort of sighing noise and relaxes.

All cats have their quirks, I guess. :)
