Why do I feel this way?

I felt confident in 8th grade. I played soccer and I was pretty good. When I went to high school I became out of shape and depressed and my grades were bad. My school is pretty difficult it's a 75 to pass. Sophomore year I was diagnosed with non Hodgkin's lymphoma. I credit the out of shape and depression to the cancer. Here I am junior year 7 months off of therapy and and I still feel out of shape depressed good for nothing and stupid. I feel like a failure. I feel like I disappoint my family especially my dad. I feel like my walls are caving in and everything is crashing down. Im on the verge of loosing my friends and I am so mean to my family sometimes. I hate everything I've become. I can't see one good things about myself anymore. There's no confidence. I even hate my own personality with which I once took so much pride in. I think I am a selfish good for nothing prick who does nothing good for the world. I want to know when this will end. When am I going to snap out of this.

I was in your same boat, until one day an amazing boy named Donni asked me why I hated myself so much? I didn't understand until he told me God made everybody and God doesn't make mistakes. No love is greater than that who's sent his own son to die for us. God reaches down and pulls out of the deep holes we are in. He loves us and no matter what we do can make him love us more or less. The more you seek him the more at peace you will be and slowly your life will come back together, but you can't put the pieces back together, only God can and he wants to, but you have to give it to him first. It will be hard, but it is so worth it. Join a church group and find people to talk about your feelings with. We weren't made to keep everything inside.

Revise your expectations of the world, yourself, and life.

Life is NOT fair... so what... you are a sick person, you might have been a starving child soldier in an african army protected by magic power and told you were bulletproof. A sick teen looks like a pretty fabulous state from *there*. Life is NOT fair, but you are not WORST OFF. Life has also not been fair to your parents or your friends, who have invested in that guy with the great personality, who is now effectively pouting.

This will be over? Never. It will change in intensity, and you will have your life back for periods. MAKE THE BEST OF THE GOOD TIMES. Do not spoil them by being an *** about not getting it *all*. Most people are not naturally brilliant and athletic rich people, get over it.

If you have missed so much school that you could not attend your lessons, then it is no wonder you are not doing well at school, and do not shine academically, it is also no great wonder you are out of shape. Make a reasonable plan to rebuild yourself, and catch up with your studies. Your friends love you, and will help if you let them.

Quit pouting and go get a life, since you ARE alive.

Go hug everyone, and apologize for being unpleasant, the burdensome part is not something you need to apologize for: it is not your fault.... but you might thank those who have helped with that burden.

You have to see yourself in a new way. You see yourself as a failure right now. Why? You had confidence in eighth grade. What happened? You should start doing something to make yourself feel worth it. You could start playing soccer again to get back in shape. You don't have to play competitively- you can probably find a league where you can play just for fun. That way it won't be too stressful or take up too much time. If you feel like you so nothing for the world then try some community service. There's lots of websites with volunteer jobs in your area. You can also find lots to do at a church near you. If you are Christian then there is probably a group at your church for people your age like if you are specifically Catholic then you could do Life Teen. You can't sit around and feel bad for yourself. You have to do something to make yourself feel confident. Remember that you were once confident with yourself, and you can bring that back. There is no reason to feel this way. Just enjoy your life and see yourself as the same confident person you were in eighth grade, because you are still that person, and you still have your eighth grade self inside you.

when you stop sitting around asking yourself these questions and start telling yourself what to do instead of relying on other people to tell you what to do. thats when ur going to snap out of it.
