Which is more moral; "A" or "B"?
A)
"No persons may be punished for an offense he or she has not personally committed. Collective penalties and likewise all measures of intimidation or of terrorism are prohibited."
B)
"I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me"
So... which would make people better citizen, and make society more moral, believing that "A" is right, or that "B" is right?
and how is this even up for debate ?(X_X)?

For me it would be A) but, not sure either one is 'moral'. A) is just/fair/right ; B) is ridiculous..

Studies have shown that if a child is raised in a home with abuse, alcoholism, drug use, etc, that they are more likely to repeat those "sins" with their own children and pass the "sin" down from generation to generation. In the original language the scripture that you quoted actually says that the sins of the parents are "visited on the children" to the third and fourth generation.
Nothing in that scripture says that God punishes a person form something they did not do. It does say that the sin of the parents will have affects on the children, harm them, and be passed down from generation to generation.
That is what is immoral. Allow parents to harm and abuse their children. That is why God is warning them so they can avoid doing that.
(Kind of like trying to blame the government for drunk drivers because they have laws against it.)
Both are moral actions.

I think we should punish the HECK out of parents for the crimes of their children... and maybe punishing a child if a parent commits a crime, might make that parent stop being a criminal...so I guess I am more with God on this one.

B) B is the correct answer because God has His laws and man has their law. The sin is against God and the paerents teach the children to hate God so those who teach their children also teach their children to be immoral.
Just look at our jails and the terrorist to get your truth.

God decides what is or isn't moral. I didn't say I always agree with Him. And He's been known to soften over time, and change His mind. IF people bother to talk to Him about it.
You planning on kicking Him off His throne or something? It doesn't work that way!
