My pregnant platy got smaller?

She is still definitely pregnant and is not and has not dropped any fry because she's been in a breeding net but and I've pretty much been watching her since I bought her at about midday so there's no way she's eating them, has the stress of being moved caused her to absorb the fry?

she looked VERY close to birth when I bought her.

now though she's still bigger than a not pregnant fish but not nearly as big as she was.

Her graved spot was reeeeeeally big, now its still dark and big but not as much

has she absorbed her fry?

will this cause her to die?

if she hasn't aborted then what's happened to her?

please help I'm very new to this

    Hello Hannah,

Firstly, I think it's probably a bad idea to keep her in a breeding net :) If you don't have a separate tank for fry, I'd suggest you just let it have it's babies in the main tank, as long as you have plenty of hiding places for the fry. Keeping fry with the adult fish also has an advantage - your weaker fish will get eaten. This means that even though the survivors may be less, they'll be stronger.

    Hope I helped :)
