Should i call the doctor?

My 1 year old daughter has been really fussy for 5 days now just Whining and been more sleepy like last night she went to bed at 530 and woke up at 8 this morning and she took a 3 hour nap the other day that I had to wake her up from. Anyways I have been thinking it's all just from teething but is just took her temperature rectally and it's 100.2 I know that is only considered a low grade fever but i worry to death anytime she gets a fever cause when she was 3 months old she got a fever 103 really quick and I don't know I just worry. Can teething cause a temperature that high or could she be sick?

Update:

Also, she has been spitting up but it smells like throw up... Is this normal? It's not a lot just like spit up..

Actually yes, teething can cause fever and make the baby fussy. Because of fever she might want to sleep more. It sounds not very serious.

But of course, if it persists longer, you should take her to a doctor. Or, you can just call a doctor now to get assured.

Fever is a sign of immune response to infection. Cutting teeth isn't an infection. So fever does not actually coincide with that. However being extra fussy, sleepy can and does often accompany teething.

When it comes to fever. It's not medically relevant or concerning until it reaches 100.4F. And even that it is low grade. I wouldn't worry until it gets high or high and it doesn't respond to a fever reducer. If it just runs on the low side then you would just wait it out. The exception there is if the fever persists beyond the 3rd day then you would want to seek treatment.

I would go on and call her doctor. Just let them know everything that's going on. All of her symptoms and let them determine if they think it could be virus or anything. And if she should be seen or just to keep a closer eyes on her, watch for things getting worse etc.
