How did the writers of the Torah know about hydrothermal vents if they were just normal men?

Job 38:16 Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth?

Read Job 38-41 and tell me what you think. Did all of these men know such things so intimately?

That's why its called "divine inspiration" by which scripture was written.

2nd Timothy 3:16 all scripture is God Breathed

2nd Peter1:21 men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

Take the same question to Genesis 1:20-25 and ask how Moses got the order right according to the fossil record.

You're stretching pretty far if you hear "hydrothermal vents" when you read "springs of the sea". A more detailed explanation of them in Job would help your case that they were not "normal men", rather than a vague passage and your own personal overblown interpretation. I'm not impressed.

    Know what things intimately?

Everything mentioned in Job 38-41 was common knowledge to the people of the time that Job was written: from whirlwinds to houses to the Pleiades to lightening to barns to seeds to crags to blood to the behemoth.

There is nothing outside the realm of man's knowledge--or ability to spin myth--contained in Job.

I wonder, do you realize how desperate you sound when you try to make argument this stupid? It's practically an admission that your beliefs are nonsense.

It's sort of like if a murder suspect says: "Well, maybe aliens did it and just used their mind-control rays to convince the four independent witnesses to think it was me. Ever think of THAT!?!?!"

I love how when a passage in their holy book is vile or otherwise questionable believers will rush to say it must be allegorical or metaphorical. But the moment some passage vaguely matches something, anything, that's real that's when they will claim it's literally talking about that thing.

It's almost as if you're not interested in whether your beliefs are true but are only interested in feeling that sweet sweet confirmation as you repeat to yourself that what you believe in is true.

So, they'd never seen a spring before?

They didn't know the sea was deep?

Where does it say "hot", or "black", or "oceanic ridge"?

If that's the best you've got you better stop arguing.

People who sailed the seas knew these things.

That thinking stuff really throws you doesn't it.
