Do you have an m1 garand, sks, lee-enfield, mauser k98k, hakim rifle or a revolver?

If not can you please refrain from using the term "clip" when describing you reloading or running out of ammo. It's not the same thing as a magazine and if you don't know what a moon clip is yet you have own a revolver look it up so you don't hurt your brain at the range.

Yo dawg, where can I get some clipz for mah glockz?

Seriously, it's not an argument worth having, nor is it worth the butthurt you obviously experienced to go so far as to make this comment. If I said I had to replace the motor mounts in my mustang, would you correct it? Would you correct someone who said they are having trouble with their phone "line" when they use VoIP? NO, because it doesn't matter, it's semantics in the end. Yes, I hate the people who misuse the terms too, but the fact is, the words are, for all intents and purposes, interchangeable, thanks in no large part to pop culture.

I'm going to laugh at you only a little, because you're almost 100 percent right.

Except, I have a bandolier full of clips -- that's right, clips, designed for loading into magazines.

    I know the difference.

Ironically enough, I also owned a revolver (9mm) which took moon clips.

I've also owned an SKS and a Mauser 98K. I passed on the Lee-Enfield and am still kicking myself for not buying an M1 Garand back when they were 320 dollars.

You get a thumbs up for this question. I'm still laughing, though.

Yes, no, no, yes, no, yes.

The M1 Garand uses a clip so you have to say clip because that what it is, a clip. Also, some magazine rifles can use a stripper clip. Go play video games, kid, and leave real guns to real men. Clearly, you don't know the difference any better than the people you are disrespecting. What you don't know about guns would fill a library.

In addition, you could benefit from a class in remedial English. Now, aren't you sorry you didn't just keep your mouth shut instead of opening it and erasing all doubt.

    Reported for rant.

Not sure what you are saying. It this just a poorly worded rant in the use of clips and magazines.

The M1 Garand, SKS and Lee-Enfield, Mauser Kar 98K, etc. ALL use clips to reload ammo

Actualy the M-1 is one of the few weapons that use a "clip". It's called an embloc. But yes most other miltary rifles use a box magazine, either fixed (like the Lee-Endfeild) or detachable. In fact the M-1 was at first intended to have a detachable box magzine, but the army thought they would get lost or damaged in battle by the troops and so they went with the embloc clip. So dont blame John Garand, the army overruled him.

Clips and magazines are different. Clips are common with rifles that have internal magazines. However, stripper clips can be used to load M14s which have external (box) magazines. The point is that they are not mutually exclusive.

@David - The M1 Garand utilizes an "en bloc" clip.

Sorry, I just had a two hour chat with Clarabell the clown and found out his identity, gonna swordfight Zorro at noon, unmask the Lone Ranger, standing with the wind in my face to answer the call of nature expecting to stay dry, but my agenda for today does not include changing COLLOQUIALISMS.......they`re impossible.

You will lose ground and valuable friends trying to change the ways of people that refuse to open their minds.

I say magazine because my first issued rifle M-1 Garand used a clip and 2nd issued M-14 used a magazine. You learn quickly to call things by their name in the military or suffer the wrath.

Unless you want society to suffer the wrath, and you the executioner, just let it pass through your ears and mind and just smile. You can`t fix stupid.

Yes I own a M98 Mauser 7.92x57. Sporterized with a 4x12 Leupold and souped up reloads. It will drop whatever I hit, guaranteed. Also own a Krag Jorgensen 30/40, has to be one of the smoothest bolt actions ever made.

No. Yes. Yes. Yes. No (after the cover about took my fingertip off!) and Yes.

Anyone who served in the military had the proper nomenclature pounded into them. I now work as a firearms instructor for state law enforcement and specify what is what during the nomenclature portion of class: "THIS is a MAGAZINE http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/AR-15-Magazines-p/m... WHILE this IS A CLIP http://www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&ai=CheZ2YeiAUu-DN-... After that, I cringe when a student says "clip' unless they are fastening papers together, but I don't say anything. We all know what the misguided soul is talking about and the more senior students in class provide PLENTY of heckling and abuse to "Clip Boy".

In the grand scheme of things, I remember the famous bit of wisdom from Bill Murray in "Meatballs" . . . . . "It just doesn't matter."

As BBean noted, you can't fix stupid. Just watch your local newscast and learn how many modern semiautos suddenly use "clips". Do you honestly think you could teach anything to THOSE bimbos?

And don't confuse the full moon clip with the half moon clip either.

Furthermore, a stripper clip has nothing to do with a scantily clad lady.

    Source(s): I've seen all four.
