Do you think the abortion issue is at this point beating a dead horse?

I think it is...This is a battle that the Pro-Life VS. Pro-Choice crowd have been fighting for 40 years since the implementation of Roe Vs. Wade & honestly how closer are the Pro-Lifers to overturning Roe Vs Wade than they were 40 years ago? & Really how much luck will the Pro-Choice crowd have getting the Pro-Life crowd to & I quote this from plenty of Pro Choice websites "Mind their own business & stay out of everyone else's bedrooms & doctors offices"? The fact that women were being denied pregnancy terminations due to life threatening conditions & whatever else is the exact reason why Roe Vs Wade was even implemented in the first place...I mean it's a on going battle of "Mind your own business" & "Abortion is the murder of an innocent unborn child." At what point on this issue do we finally agree to disagree? When do we finally throw in the towel & realize that neither side will probably not win the battle? The only thing I have seen happen with this are a few states passing laws that get ruled "unconstitutional" by the SCOTUS & struck down, a few abortion clinics closing only to receive some kind of funding allowing them to re-open their doors. & This has happened in Texas where I live just in the past 4 months alone. When do we finally realize it's beating a dead horse & to just leave the issue alone? **Sorry if it sounds like a rant I'm really not trying to rant here just asking a question :)*

Pro-choicers won't give up because they know if they do abortion will be made harder to get and possibly illegal. Pro-lifers won't give up because while abortion is around they will have something to fight against, obviously.

Cut off at 15 weeks is ridiculous, and I thought Zoes law was bad ha

    24 or 25 weeks here.

I'm not because they are rare and necessary. At about 15 weeks - about 18 or 19 you get results for malformations and retardation's etc. Down syndrome and Trysomy's are tested at 18 weeks, you have any idea how bad some of them are? some have extremely high chance of mortality.

    What is second trimester

    screening? 14 to 18 weeks

A second trimester screening test is a blood

test of the mother that provides information on

the risk of having a baby with Down syndrome

or a neural tube defect like spina bifida. This

test is sometimes called a maternal serum

screen (MSS) or the triple te

Thirty percent of infants with Trisomy 13 live to one month; 91% die within the first year of life

It's pretty aweful and without late term abortion being available parents would have to shop for their babies coffin before they are even born. Yes I have seen this happen with a family who decided to give birth anyway, and shortly later the baby did die.

sadly, no. today, the supreme court will not block an abortion bill in texas which is restricting abortions. if all goes well, roe vs. wade wont be brought up again and remain in place.

both sides are pretty fanatical and irrational.

which makes the debate really .. annoying and stupid.

The Christians want NO abortions full stop. The feminists want NO restrictions.

I am *pro-choice* - and I sit in the middle of these positions. Abortions should be legal - but with a cut off of around 15 weeks - except in exceptional circumstances (medical, r*pe, underage etc.)

    *whoops I meant pro-choice ! lol - typo

    * well what is a common cut off currently ? 20 weeks ? - look, Im against late term abortions.

there are women in sitting in prison right now for having an abortion, or miscarrying, or attempting suicide while pregnant. no, its not a dead horse at all.

I agree with Milla. You shouldn't make it illegal that early.
