Do you think the abortion issue is at this point beating a dead horse?
I think it is...This is a battle that the Pro-Life VS. Pro-Choice crowd have been fighting for 40 years since the implementation of Roe Vs. Wade & honestly how closer are the Pro-Lifers to overturning Roe Vs Wade than they were 40 years ago? & Really how much luck will the Pro-Choice crowd have getting the Pro-Life crowd to & I quote this from plenty of Pro Choice websites "Mind their own business & stay out of everyone else's bedrooms & doctors offices"? The fact that women were being denied pregnancy terminations due to life threatening conditions & whatever else is the exact reason why Roe Vs Wade was even implemented in the first place...I mean it's a on going battle of "Mind your own business" & "Abortion is the murder of an innocent unborn child." At what point on this issue do we finally agree to disagree? When do we finally throw in the towel & realize that neither side will probably not win the battle? The only thing I have seen happen with this are a few states passing laws that get ruled "unconstitutional" by the SCOTUS & struck down, a few abortion clinics closing only to receive some kind of funding allowing them to re-open their doors. & This has happened in Texas where I live just in the past 4 months alone. When do we finally realize it's beating a dead horse & to just leave the issue alone? **Sorry if it sounds like a rant I'm really not trying to rant here just asking a question :)*
6 AnswersGender Studies8 years agoDo you think the gay marriage & abortion issues have given religion a bad name?
There was a big discussion about this on my Facebook page today & there are those that think since the abortion & gay marriage issues have resurfaced so to speak it has given religion a bad look because one of my FBF made a comment stating those that vote against these two issues are people who are trying to exert their religion in on the private lives of others...They're trying to force everyone (even those who don't share the same religion) to live by their religion....When you think of those that are pro life there are those that think of religious nuts who can't mind their business...They associate the proverb "Love thy neighbor" to the baby that's being aborted. Now I'm not bashing religion because I'm a Christian & have nothing against religious people, but I personally keep my religion to myself...My religious beliefs are mines alone & are not to be impaled in the lives of perfect strangers so in fact I disagreed with much of what they were saying...Do you think gay marriage & abortion have given religion a bad name?
13 AnswersGender Studies8 years agoI have a question for Pro Lifers?
Okay, so many of you seem to have made it a point to go picket at abortion clinics...I've got to ask, how many of you actually STEP IN & intervene when you see a young girl who may have been forced into getting an abortion? I'll briefly explain why I'm pro choice & why I respectfully disagree with your P.O.V. because why do you think it's important to force women to be pregnant with babies they may not want? Say Roe Vs. Wade ends up being overturned & if a woman gets pregnant tough luck, who's going to be there to save the babies when women start birthing them & leaving them in dumpsters & toilets? Yeah I know that kind of thing happens already & there was just a case in Pennsylvania where a woman gave birth to a baby boy, suffocated him, left him in a plastic bag & went back to watching a game or something like that, but will any of you be there to protect the babies then? I respect all right to lifers beliefs however I disagree with your stance because babies should only be born to people who want them & women should be pregnant because they WANT to be pregnant...They should enjoy everything from the sicknesses lol to the jabs in to the rib cage up until birth..No one should be FORCED to remain pregnant based off of someone else's religious or moral ideas. It's just my opinion, not attacking anyone. But yes so my question to the Lifers are, you're against abortion...Have you ever intervened where someone looks as if they were being forced?
9 AnswersGender Studies8 years agoWhat do Pro Lifers think about this "Pro Life Rant"?
So I was reading on Facebook where a user basically went on a rant blaming Right to Lifers for the reason she was unable to find the morning after pill...Here's what she wrote:
"I'm so over these religious fundamental nuts who can't seem to get their noses out of everyone else's bedrooms & doctors offices. Thanks to people like these "Pro fetus" spreading their false "Life begins at conception" rhetoric many pharmacists have resorted to lying about carrying Plan B & other morning after pills which would prevent pregnancy & prevent someone from having to get an abortion which is what their idea goal is in the first place right? So now because of THEM it is very hard to also obtain birth control. So these pro fetus fundamentalists have not only made it remotely impossible to get an abortion now, but they are not working on making it difficult to obtain contraceptives in preventing pregnancy as well, so there's not a lot of options out there available to us women anymore. I guess women's best bet if they don't want to get pregnant would be to either get a hysterectomy or get her tubes tied or is it only a matter of time before the pro fetus nuts try & get that banned too? Because obviously these pro fetus wingnuts only think a woman should be having sex when she wants to get pregnant."
Judging from her statement, is it true that some pro lifers are also against the usage of birth control as well?
9 AnswersGender Studies8 years agoWhy do you think abortion should or should NOT be legal?
I'm neither Pro life OR pro choice...Really I am not interested in what others choose to do with their bodies...I'm not the biggest fan of abortion, but you will never catch me protesting at "abortion mills." Just because I would never do it doesn't mean I would ever try & tell the next woman not to have one..So I ask if you are Pro life why do you feel like women need to keep babies they may not even want? Sure the classic answer is "Adoption" but keep in mind there have been more cases of child abuse in foster homes...Shouldn't the decision of such a personal idea be left up to the women in question & not politicians & people who may not even know if the women getting abortions were raped? If you are pro choice, why do you believe abortions should remain legal?
12 AnswersGender Studies8 years agoWhy hasn't my period come yet?? I'm really really scared!!?
So my period usually comes between the 13th & the 16th of every month I know FOR SURE I am NOT pregnant so that's not even a suggestion. Around the 7th or 8th of this month I experienced what could have been a light period so I'm not sure if my period was just super light & early this month or what, but I kind of have a feeling it was because if it was gonna come on it's normal due date it would have been here by now, here it is a week later & it still hasn't come yet. I'm really worried because this has never happened before. What's going on with me?
SN: I'm 20 years old if that helps
3 AnswersWomen's Health8 years agoIf a guy & a girl is engaging in unprotected sex, no condom, no pills, no nothing...?
Why in some cases do they get upset when the girl ends up pregnant? I mean EXCUSE ME, but that's how children are born in the first instance RIGHT? So if a girl isn't doing everything she can to protect herself from an unplanned pregnancy & the guy isn't doing the same (wearing a condom) why does she get all upset & start crying when she finds out she's pregnant? (I'm mainly talking about teenagers)
3 AnswersPregnancy8 years agoPARENTS: Do you think spanking a child because of bad grades is acceptable?
Well not really acceptable, but do you believe that a child should be spanked over bad grades? I am asking this because as a child I was spanked because of my grades & IMO all this does is if a child continues to get bad grades, he or she will just get to the point to where they'll hid their report card from you because they're scared they're gonna be hit. I think if a child brings home bad grades once or twice then take away priviledges & make them only focus on their studies until grades come up to an acceptable average & if after studying, tutoring, & One on one time with the teacher grades still do not come up...Then that could mean the child has a learning disability which in THAT case getting a belt & whipping them across their behinds isn't gonna help that. What are your opinions on this?
13 AnswersParenting8 years agoWhat to do about a biting dog?
Well I have a 10 month old lab terrier mix & he's a biter. Basically if you try to pick him up...Well first let me say when he bites it doesn't really hurt it feels like a really intense pinch but he likes to nibble at your hands if you try to pick him up & unless you yell "NO!" He'll kind of open his mouth to bite if you try to pet him. Again he's not biting in defense it's just that when he was a small puppy instead of buying him chew toys (he had a few) I would let him teeth on my fingers & maybe he's gotten use to it. If I would hold him he would just mouth on my fingers but it wouldn't hurt. He basically would use my hands as teething toys or whatever. But now I'm wondering if it's a behavioral problem because he bites too much. Is it too late to train him not to bite so much? I realize his biting is a defense mechanism, but I've had him since March 2012...There's no reason for him to feel an urge to defend himself against me anymore...What can I do to rectify this behavior?
2 AnswersDogs8 years agoM&D: HELP! I need answers!! :)?
Okay so me & this one guy have been dating off & on for a year & a half...& he's ready to get married. Now I'm 20 almost 21 & well let's say he's in his mid twenties...So I do want to get married & I want to have children but the difference between us is he's on his own...Standing on his on two feet, own place, pay his own bills, pretty decent job & making a great amount of money...I have a decent job but I am still in school I DON'T have my own place I still stay with my parents. It's not that I don't think I'm ready or that I'm marriage material & I really don't want to make him wait. I mean he's SO much different than men I'm used to dating I mean I've been with abusive men & he's the COMPLETE opposite. Would never even DREAM of hitting me. He's just so...Awesome :) he's EVERYTHING you'd want in a potential mate but many people feel like because I have no real experience being on my own or in the real world it's not so much as a mistake but more so it's too much for someone with no real world experience. I mean I KNOW he's the one for me, & he's wanting to pop the question, but I don't know I guess what I'm asking is, with no real world experience, never had any real responsibility would getting married right now be a little too much for someone in my shoes? Or if he asks should I accept & just learn along the way? I'm happy but I'm scared at the same time. Please help! Any answers would be appreciated! Thanks in advance for all your help!
4 AnswersMarriage & Divorce9 years agoIs it okay to douche with ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar), & Peroxide diluted in water?
If you have a yeast infection? I have one & I really don't want to spend any money on something that may not work...I've been applying vagisil to the folds of my vagina where it itches the most & that's stopped the itching, but I still have the yeast discharge. I was reading on the internet that the method above is excellent for clearing up a yeast infection & plus it's natural...Is this safe?
2 AnswersWomen's Health9 years agoI think I screwed up my PH level in my Vaginal area :/ PLEASE HELP!!! (May be T.M.I!!!)?
So I had a yeast infection & it was itching like crazy "down there." We can rule out any STD's because I don't have sex..But anyways...So I was reading on the internet where a woman advised using hydrogen peroxide to ease the itching as well as clear up the infection. So I did like 3 days ago. Good thing is the itching DID stop, but 3 days later I noticed that I had like a clear, slight, brownish discharge from my vagina. I'm due for my period week after next, so I'm guessing maybe this could be like ovulation discharge or something like that. I also have no foul smelling odor coming from down there it's just the discharge that I'm kind of worried about. Please help me! I'm like seriously freaking out!! Did I do something wrong by putting peroxide down there? I didn't even really put it inside I just held it to the opening of my vagina with some tissue...Should I have done this?
1 AnswerWomen's Health9 years agoP&S: If someone is knowingly being disgusting at the dinner table...?
I mean just amazingly ill mannered from chewing with their mouth open to belching at the table, would it be appropriate to cuss that person out & tell them to move their nasty ill mannered ___ (fill in the blank) to another table? LOL
7 AnswersPolls & Surveys9 years agoM&D: Why does it seem like I only attract abusive men?
Well I'm 20 years old, & I have to admit with the acception of ONE guy & (he's just as bad as the others because he couldn't think for himself) I have a habit of attracting abusive guys. I say this because I started dating when I was 17 years old, but it's like I've been in a chain of verbally, emotionally & physically abusive relationships. I'd like to think I'm submissive, & very down to earth. I pretty much cater to my boyfriends & give them almost everything they ask for (not that though, I'm still a virgin LOL) yet I still ended up getting treated like dirt. It's like these guys are attracted to me & I can't seem to find any better than them. It's starting to make me not even want to get married or deal with men anymore because it seems like the only ones that really want anything to do with me are the ones that are abusive. Why is that?
11 AnswersMarriage & Divorce9 years agoG&S: Why do pregnant teen girls get ridiculed all the time?
When I say this I mean it's like society comes down harder on them than they do the boys...Well at least where I'm from they do this. People make comments about them like "She should have kept her knees together" or "She's an idiot" & then the most cruel comment I hear of all times especially if she's seeking government assistance to help her with her baby "My tax dollars shouldn't go to some little wh*re who was stupid enough to get pregnant & wasn't responsible enough to get herself on some form of birth control if she was going to be sexually active." I mean do these people that make these comments forget the golden saying "it takes TWO to tango"?? Do they also forget that a woman has to have a PENIS inserted into her vagina in order to get pregnant in the first place & therefore she shouldn't have to take full blame for being pregnant with a baby she is nowhere NEAR ready to take care of? I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm ranting, but after reading the booking "Teen Pregnancy Project" I just couldn't resist. It's like in high school of all places the girl is like Hester Prynne from "The Scarlet Letter" & her pregnant stomach is the "A" embroided on her clothes. People just stare at her in disgust & judge her..Why is this?
12 AnswersGender Studies9 years agoP&S: True story, 1st scenario actually happened to me...Reactions?
GIRLS: What would you do if 2 weeks before Valentines day, you went out on a date with a boy & he thought it was "cute" to be disgusting while eating at the table, so he purposely chewed with his mouth open because he thought it was funny, ate messy dropping food all over the table, & stuffing his face? LOL how would you end that date? & THEN it gets better, he calls you saying he plans to take you out for Valentines day to a REALLY fancy restaurant?
BOYS: What if you went out on a date with a girl & she complained the whole entire time about EVERYTHING?
2 AnswersPolls & Surveys9 years agoM&D: Do you think my pregnant sister should have to quit working?
Well I have a 29 year old sister who has been married for like 10 years now (WOW!) LOL they have 2 children & one on the way. She just had my little nephew last year who turned 1 years old back in February. Well she is pregnant again & though she worked all last year until it was time for her to go on maternity leave like a month before she had my nephew, this time my brother in law which is her husband has told her he doesn't want her to work anymore. He says he wants her to just stay at home & focus on the children & home while preparing for the baby they're going to have in November (she's 3 months pregnant). I babysit for them & don't mind it, but her husband says I have a life of my own I need to take care of & don't need to spend so much time looking after their kids. I really don't mind because I love my neice & nephew to death & would put my life on hold for them if I ever had to. But she says she wants to do just what she did while she was pregnant with my nephew to add to & maintain the steady income they have. Now it isn't like they're in a financial bind or anything like it, they actually have a good amount of money to last them a minute, but her husband just doesn't want her to focus on working. He only wants her to take it easy for a while. Opinions? Do you think my sister should have to do like her husband says just stay home for a while & prepare for the new baby or does she have as much right to continue working as he does?
4 AnswersMarriage & Divorce9 years agoDo you think the sex offender registry should be done away with?
It should be done away with because where I'm from very little people ACTUALLY take it seriously here's why:
You have women who have lied about a sexual assault of some sort damaging the credibility of the true victims. Not only have they damaged the true victims credibility, they have also made it easier for the true predators to do what they do because since they figure the said victim would be accused of lying anyway, they know that they more than likely wouldn't pay any attention to the registry since it has been brought to light that many rape accusations are indeed false. Plus anyone who would go around preying on children, or a serial rapist doesn't NEED to be released back into the public. When I was raped back in 2007, the one thing that hurt me the most wasn't the fact that I was raped even though it was a life altering event. It was the fact that there were people that didn't even believe I was raped why might you ask? Because of the idiots going around lying about rape just because they know someone will more than likely believe them. Plus, the guy that raped me would only continue to rape women such as myself if he knew all he had to do was put his name on some stupid registry that most people don't even pay attention to anymore. It's like the boy who cried wolf. Too many rape cases have turned out to be lies, that when someone actually is raped, they're categorized with the dummies that lied about it in the first place. This is just my opinion. If someone is a serial rapist or child molester, why release them into the public ANYWAY? Why not just send them to jail where they belong instead of placing them on a sex offender registry? Opinions?
8 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police9 years agoWhat can I do about my job?
So I have a medical condition where sometimes if I stand for a long time I begin to feel very dizzy & light headed & on some occasions nauseated. Well Sunday was one of those days...I hadn't eaten anything since 10 a.m. that morning & I had a pounding headache. This WAS information that I disclosed in my interview so they are fully aware of it & there are supervisors there that will ask me how I'm feeling. Sunday I informed one of my store managers that towards the end of my shift (I was to clock out at 8) that I wasn't feeling well & I needed to go home because I was fine all day but around 6 that's when I started to feel sick. She goes "Okay we'll see what we can do" I got ready to clock out & one of my CSMS go "No you have to stay because we're shorthanded & I have no one to replace you" & made me stay on the clock. I felt like I was getting worse but he wouldn't let me clock out. I ended up clocking out 10 mins earlier than I was supposed to but my supervisor told me I shouldn't have clocked out at all because I was told not to, but I was sick! I was not gonna put myself in a position to be hospitalized just because they were shorthanded & couldn't replace me for what? 30 more minutes? & we weren't even THAT busy. So my question is, what should I do in situations like this? Are jobs even allowed to do that? I mean, what are my rights in this particular situation?
1 AnswerLaw & Ethics9 years agoSerious answers only! Please don't be rude, but I have a question...?
A little over a year ago I made the BIGGEST mistake of my life. Basically someone was imprisoned because of a misinterpretation & now is on probation & has to be labeled as a sex offender. The situation is this...So there was this dude that I really loved, but was trying to stop things before something got too serious. Well he's a dude with raging hormones & mind you we are both 20 years old so doesn't sound to unbelievable. Well he kissed me against my will & my friend caught him. When she called the police, she falsely told him that the guy tried to rape me & that I was "too scared to say anything." So he went to jail & I thought that would be the end of it. Turns out he actually got a plea bargain which means he would be on probation for like 4 years & he's labeled as a high risk sex offender. This is all my fault because I allowed my friend to tell the police something that wasn't true. She actually did this without my knowledge & truthfully I had NO IDEA she was gonna call the police & file that fake report like she did. Now he's serving time really for something he didn't even do. My question now is, what can I do to get this madness off of him, that way he can put this whole nightmare behind him? Me & my former friend are no longer speaking because I feel this was a VERY vindictive thing she's done. I don't want this guy paying for something he's COMPLETELY innocent of especially at my expense. How can I get the charges dropped? I feel so horrible about what I've done to him, I am almost afraid to face him. Please help me out! I need advice. He's no sex offender & he doesn't pose ANY risk to anyone. What can I do for him? So that he will no longer have to be labeled as a rapist or whatever she told the police?
