To the Atheist or whatever. What is the first thing that existed?

If there is no God, then what is the first matter that come to existence? And how did it existed by itself if there's nothing else that existed that can make it exist. For example If u say the first atom that existed was X, then how did it suddenly exist?magic? nature? Even magic or galaxy doesnt exist yet that time. There must be something else that exist as catalyst to make the other exist. That can only be god, right? PLEASE.OPINIONS,even the crappy one accepted. *_*

Update:

All of you are wrong . The first thing ever existed was a Pokemon.

I think it's very sad that if someone does not have faith they would want others to agree with them!

The mystery's of faith an GOD are beyond human comprehension.

Faith concerns questions which cannot be settled by evidence.

How can the universe create itself out of nothingness? Given the fact that the universe began to exist, it must have had a “cause” that originated it.Doesn't it make more sense to assume the existence of a Creation.

The question is tricky because it sneaks in the false assumption that GOD came from somewhere and then asks where that might be. The answer is that the question does not even make sense. It is like asking, “What does blue smell like?” Blue is not in the category of things that have a smell, so the question itself is flawed. In the same way, GOD is not in the category of things that are created or caused. GOD is uncaused and uncreated—He simply exists.

We know that from nothing, nothing comes. So, if there were ever a time when there was absolutely nothing in existence, then nothing would have ever come into existence. But things do exist. Therefore, since there could never have been absolutely nothing, something had to have always been in existence. That ever-existing being is what we call GOD ,GOD is the un-caused Being that caused everything else to come into existence. God is the uncreated Creator who created the universe and everything in it.

Life without GOD is like an un- sharpened pencil it has no point..

You can't see the wind, but you know it is there because you can see what the wind is doing. You can know that the wind is there because you can feel it.GOD is like the wind, you can't see him.

Energy existed. Even where there is otherwise nothing, quantum energy fluctuations exist.

There is no cause for quantum fluctuation, it is random.

Energy condensed into matter according to E=mc^2 as the universe cooled after the expansion of the big bang.

The fact you ask this question probably means you won't accept or understand the answer. Which is OK, it's complicated. It has taken hundreds of the greatest physicists the world has seen over a hundred years to work out what we now know, and we have a lot more to learn.

But it wasn't a god, that's for certain.

I don't know. Did you assume that I was some kind of scientist? Or that I care what was first?

    >"There must be something else that exist as catalyst to make the other exist. That can only be god, right?"<

So, the only answer is magic then? ROFL...no.

I suggest that if you really want to know this, then you should ask it in the proper section. Somehow, I don't think that you do.

The first matter was quarks and leptons which formed less than a second after the big bang

The first 'thing' that ever existed was the laws of physics, and they always existed. This is known as the 'first cause', the laws of physics caused the universe and everything in it.

"that can only be god" what? why? what is your logic? why must the first cause be a sentient being?

Science can't address what happened even one second before the Big Bang, or alternately, where membranes came from in M-Theory.

If you're speaking of life forms, they call the first one the LUA -- Last Universal Organism. The origin of life cannot be proven either, of course, although theories abound.

No one knows. not even religious people. According to Stephen Hawking it was something to do with gravity, at best guess.

The default position cannot be God, because he is a work of popular fiction..

Atheist does not equal scientist. Ask a scientist. Or get a book, written by a scientist. Or ask in the science section of Yahoo Answers.

    A singularity.

It's a little difficult for the undereducated to understand but that is why they have god. God is the explanation for those who don't have an adequate education to understand a complex reason.

A quantum fluctuation created the singularity. Yes I know- you then demand the cause of that, then I demand the cause of God.

    How strange!

A christian answering his own question.

    It's God by default again.

No need to study astrophysics or any other science nonsense.

    "It can only be god,right?"
