benefit enquiry, Woman who was claiming industrial injury benefit and ESA allowance. Her husband was her care?

Woman who was claiming industrial injury benefit and ESA allowance. Her husband was her carer. Recently the woman in question died through NHS negligence and the case is still in process at the courts. What benefit is the remaining partner entitled to at tis present moment as he has no idea of what to do or where to go for support? Thanks

What benefit he might gets depends on his personal circumstances and his age

Obviously he gives up his Carer's allowance,

A chat with a benefits advisor is what he needs to organise and get himself sorted

if still of working age then he has to apply for a job. He should talk to the Benefits Agency. He will not be paid to stay home and do nothing.

Now he goes to work. If he could provide good care for his wife, he now has the experience to help someone else and get paid for it.

Maybe he should go directly to the Benefits agency, which is the obvious place and/or the CAB........

If he's fit and healthy and able to work, it would probably be Jobseeker's Allowance
