my 15 month old eats a lot of chicken nuggets, is this okay?
I ask because a lot of people criticized my sister in law for feeding her son mostly chicken nuggets... my son eats plenty of fruits and vegetables. And I offer him hot dogs and hamburger which he will usually take 2 or 3 bites of, then he's done.. But as son as he sees chicken nuggets he will eat 4 or 5.. So I've been turning to that when he refuses other things.. So is this okay? Like, health wise? Thanks in advance.
thank you to the polite and helpful comments. as for the others who were rude..i am a first time mother who doesnt have someone to teach me whats right and what isnt. i came here for advice, not to be judged and talked down to

The problem with chicken nuggets and hot dogs and hamburgers are that they are pretty much void of nutrition. Once in a while, they are fine, but on a regular basis you are just teaching him to eat cheap sodium laden, bland food. He's at an age where you should be encouraging new foods and tastes.

Cfhicken nuggets are nothing but pieces and parts of the undesirable left overs from other premium chicken parts and they are battered and deep fried. Gross on so many levels.
Why not go the healthy route and feed the child chicken instead. You can cut up chicken pieces and roll them in shake and bake, which is tons healthier than the nuggets.
Kids are funny with their eating habits. My friend's son would only eat white and yellow things like Mac n Cheese, Chicken, rice, potatoes, cereal, pasta with butter and bananas. The thing about children is that they go into food phases. But no matter how picky an eater a kid is, they will never starve themselves.
It is up to us to be creative and get healthy foods into our kids bodies. John Trivolta's wife has a cookbook where she makes cookies with broccoli in them and the kids gobble them up.

Chicken nuggets are 50% chicken / 50% chicken by-products. That 50% was once reserved for pet food companies. Currently under pressure, companies have added that 50% chicken component.

Here is a great video showing you how those nuggets are made, and how you can follow this recipe and make your own without all the chemical additives.

I don't think chicken nuggets are good for anyone. It's basically made of rests of chicken cut down in small particles and fried all together. Sure, it's alright to feed the this once in a while, just like fast food, but not too often. (:

They are not a great choice. However, they are easy to make yourself and cost less, too, especially if you buy the chicken in bulk. You can cut it into nuggets ahead of time and then freeze it in batches of however many nuggets you'll make at a time. Here's a great recipe: http://weelicious.com/2012/03/29/chicken-nuggets/
At 15 months my daughter loved grilled chicken (I'd just spray a little olive oil in a non-stick skillet and "grill" the breasts that way) or I'd order a grilled chicken sandwich for her if we were eating out (they were okay with just giving us the meat). She also loved baked potatoes!

She could be reacting to the medicine, or just having an allergic reaction to some food. Yes take her to the E.R!!!! You don't want to wait till morning and find out something very bad has happened, and also if she can't get comfy then she won't be able to sleep anyways and you will be up all night with her. Good luck and I hope she feels better!!!!

Raising any child on processed junk, especially from infancy, is stupid and constitutes child abuse. I would never, ever feed that kind of junk to a child. I don't even eat that stuff myself. I am in my 50s and I think I have had them probably three or four times in my entire life. What's wrong with real food, whole food and, healthy food.
