Why are we denied the right to appeal a violation notice?

I go to the trouble of typing why I think the violation notice was unearned and I solve their little puzzle but when I click on submit, I get a page that says the appeals page cannot be opened. I'm advised to retype the URL. They supplied the link, I'd think it was correct. The report rat got my question about AA meetings. I said it was worth the -10 points and this one will be another minus 10. I wonder why I always get these violation notices when a certain trust member shows up.

Update:

Read fast, the rat is in the house.

Update 2:

Life is too short, for me anyway, to take this nonsense seriously. When I no longer have any fun, then it's time to get out of here. I used to enjoy appealing violation notices, now they've taken away even what little fun was left.

Update 3:

I received a violation notice about an hour ago but I seem to still be here. Maybe the rats ran out of their "trusted member status".

It's one of those unexplainable things that Yahoo loves to spring on it's truly loyal and trusted members. Those of us that have striven to be of help to others and make the SC's group an enjoyable place to be are given the shaft by a few that think it's a great way to spend their time by giving others the dirty end of the stick. And Yahoo allows it.

Because that link on the violation notice is broken and does not work and you have to use this link below to appeal. Also now you have to type in the codes from the bottom of the page in order for it to go through before submitting it. Once that is submitted you will get a Thank You and a confirmation email letter with an ID number on it. Saved it in case you need to appeal again.

When the link in the violation notice doesn't work, go to this page. https://io.help.yahoo.com/contact/index?locale=en_...

It's a bit more confusing, but since there isn't a captsha code to type in, I think the annoyance level evens out with the appeal link in the notice. Also, just in case, copy what you wrote in the appeal form, before clicking submit. That way, worse comes to worse, you don't have to type the same thing.

And, final comment--don't assume you know who it is. Whoever it is is doing a good enough job to get the "trusted reporter" status, so knows how to game the system well enough. I doubt that kind of gaming around is stupid enough to participate while duping everyone. It's too easy to be noticed, and Yahoo is trying to pick up the gamers.

Good luck!! Same problem. Not worth worrying about. I'd suggest contacting the people that advertise on Yahoo, and tell them of your problem, and that they've lost YOUR business. It seems that losing a few dollars gets more response, than losing a few disgruntled senior citizens, ever will. Boycotts, and such, even if it doesn't show on the bottom line, get attention fast.

We don't like the wayYahoo is treating us, let's just go over their heads. Go to the people that finance Yahoo.

I now have 2 answers that have been "violated" by this answer. One has been in "appeal" for several weeks, the other says "can't open appeals".

    It's been fun, anyway.

I sympathise but it just isn't worth the aggro to keep thinking this way. We've all been there and know that the system is broken down and Yahoo have no intentions of fixing it. They will allow things to continue unless or until their advertising revenue is hit badly. That is all that they are here for in reality.

    Old Eyes,

I am not certain. They used to allow us to do so but I was never able to "WIN the ARGUMENT". I decided even though I didn't try to harm others and followed their guidelines that a couple of membetrs didn't want to listen to me at all. Over the years, I have had great friendships formed on YA and enjoy speaking with others thru email messaging. Have a great week.

    Thanks,

    Eds

We have the right to appeal a violation, but no one actually reviews them objectively. I agree with you when it stopped being fun in certain categories I stopped go into them.

Source(s): I have received violations when I have answered questions honestly and apparently the person asking it wanted a lie.

Life IS too short to bother about it. Apparently it's always going to be a contrary matter, best ignored.

Honestly, it really isn't worth the worry, they rely of the "trusted members" opinion and none of ours.

They don't want to hear it, besides it might overwork they one person they have on staff. Remember they rely on their ''trusted member'' to report our nonsense, and trust his good judgment. IF HE says we are not worthy, that is good enough for them.
