Tattoos that show freedom?

Not patriotic. But tattoos that show strong independence. Tattoos that show one can never be held down, maybe like a bird or a ship? Any suggestions?

BQ: do you have any tattoos?

A phoenix. There is only one at a time, and is reborn over and over again. But also is a bird and completely independent. Either that or multiple birds flying away. I don't have any tattoos but I was thinking of getting one of a phoenix.

A tattoo that shows independence would be something unique that doesn't look exactly like something a thousand people on Pinterest have. So stay away anchors, the feather-turning-into-birds, all those cliche designs. Those all imply that you're an uncreative person who depends on others to come up with ideas for you.

I have a tattoo of a Dove on my forearm, because to me a Dove is a simply representation of freedom, peace and individuality. It's just a really simple tat, no colour just almost a silhouette of a dove with its wings spread.

That's the only suggestion I have, I love my dove tattoo and most people are aware that the dove represents freedom and peace. So I never really have to explain it, which is nice.

Choose an owl or a bird. A peacock for example. Or a raven.
